Skell Insurance is a combat mechanic that allows players to repair wrecked Skells in Xenoblade Chronicles X. Learn more about what Skell Insurance is and how Skell Insurance works with this guide!
List of Contents
When your Skell gets destroyed, a red prompt similar to Soul Challenges will appear. The cost of repairing a wrecked Skell and the character's HP afterward depends on the player's performance with this prompt.
Performance | Result |
---|---|
Perfect | Skell Insurance will not be deducted and your character is ejected safely. |
Good | Skell repairs will cost 1 Skell Insurance and your character is ejected safely. |
Failed | Skell repairs will cost 1 Skell Insurance and your character will drop down to 1 HP. |
Skells can be repaired by going to the Customization Center in the BLADE Barracks.
Most Skells have 3 Skell Insurance by default. Getting anything lower than a Perfect in the red prompt upon your Skell getting destroyed will deduct your Skell Insurance. There is no way to replenish Skell Insurance, so make sure you are strong enough before going into fights using your Skell.
It is important to note that if your Skell has 0 Skell Insurance, getting a Perfect in the red prompt will not repair the Skell for free anymore.
Skells can be repaired with credits when Skell Insurance is depleted, though this can be very costly and it does not replenish Skell Insurance.
Players may also use a Salvage Ticket to repair Skells, but these are a bit tricky to come across since it's not a guaranteed Division Reward.
The easiest solution would be to buy a new Skell entirely. Though it can cost more, it also comes with the advantage of having full Skell Insurance again.
