The four arts on the right side of the art palette are mainly for taunting enemies and increasing survivability by boosting Physical Res and a providing a barrier. Power Dive also grants evasion and should be used first before executing a damage-dealing art to increase its power.
Take advantage of Furious Blast's cooldown bonuses to restore TP per hit. Executing both Decoy Round and Trash Talk arts also help restore enough TP to use Last Stand.

Upgrade Steel Flesh to its max level to gain a 30% boost to your max HP, and upgrade Shield Screen to further reduce damage, increasing H.B. survivability during fights.
Combat Presence is a good skill to have, since this increases the duration of enemies taunted by H.B. giving your other party members room to breathe without being attacked.

Best Role During Combat
TP Battery and Taunt Tank
His taunt arts lets him divert enemies' attention to himself while also restoring TP with each use. With his skills equipped, he can tank and evade hits to keep him in the party longer.
H.B.'s kit can restore his TP quite fast when used correctly, giving him enough TP to use Last Stand on an ally and restore their TP up to 2000 if Last Stand is at max level.
