What is the Max Level?

Level 99 for Characters

With the release of Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition for the Nintendo Switch, the level cap has been raised from 60 to 99. This significant increase aligns the game with other titles in the Xenoblade Chronicles series and provides players with even more opportunities to grow and customize their characters.

The increased level cap opens the door for greater combat depth, allowing players to perfect their builds, unlock devastating combinations of Arts, and take on the toughest Tyrants scattered across Mira’s massive, alien world.

I was going to say the same thing. The characters were not capped at 60 because the monsters you fought can be upwards to level 99. The Skells however are capped at 60.
