L's kit overfocuses on Defense and as such the player should focus on giving him Defense-related Arts to take advantage of his great defense boost to teammates. Astral Protection and Mindstorm when paired together can allow for some heavy defensive stonewalling.
Pair this with Trash Talk and some stalling effects like Topple via Wild Smash and Wild Down for better control and taunting. Shield Wall will further increase the protection of your allies while using either Lightning Cloak or Flame Cloak.

L's skills will focus more on enhancing his Defensive buffs. Arguably he is synergetic with most of the skills in his kit, however, Steel Flesh, Shield Screen and Stand Strong are good general-use skils for L due to their simple but effective boost in stats.
Otherwise, the player can also wield Knight's Soul or Double Reflect for dealing reflect damage and enhanced TP.

Best Role During Combat
Overspecialized Tank
L primarily works as a stonewalling tank in the party, protecting the player's roster from major damage hitters even in late-game.
This specialization costs him however, because he doesn't deal as much damage and he doesn't fulfill other niches either like L.B being able to generate TP or Lin being able to deal damage while also tanking.
