What is Auxiliary Energy?

Use to Trigger Quick Cooldown

Aux Energy Gauge

Auxiliary Energy is used to trigger Quick Cooldown on an Art which instantly resets its cooldown. This allows the player to immediately reuse and spam Art skills. However, Aux Energy is limited by the amount stored in the Auxiliary Energy Gauge, and each use of Quick Cooldown consumes this gauge.

To trigger Quick Cooldown, press Y while selecting an Art skill on cooldown during combat.

Acquire Energy Clips to Increase Gauge

Xenoblade Chronicles X Definitive Edition - Survey Rewards

The maximum amount of auxiliary energy you can store can be increased by acquiring Energy Clips. These can be acquired as a reward for increasing the survey rate of Mira.

How to Replenish Aux Energy

Cannot Replenish During Battle

There is no way to refill the Auxiliary Energy gauge in the middle of a battle. This means the amount of times you can trigger Quick Cooldown in an encounter is limited by your max aux energy storage which is more incentive to increase the survey rate of Mira as soon as possible.

However, the gauge refills back to full at the end of a battle, allowing you full use of it for your next combat encounter.
