Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition is most likely to receive DLC, as the original game didn't have post-launch expansions. Discover whether the game will have DLCs, what the possible DLCs may contain, learn what DLCs the past Xenoblade games had in the past.
List of Contents
Unlike previous Xenoblade Chronicles games, Xenoblade Chronicles X originally did not receive post-launch DLC in its Western Release.
With the release of the Definitive Edition, new content such as additonal Epilogue Content and new characters will be added to Xenoblade Chronicles X. These new features technically count as DLC content since they were not in the Wii U version of the game.
Nintendo and Monolith Soft have a history of expanding their Xenoblade games with additional content, and if the Definitive Edition performs well, they may release DLC.
This could include new story expansions, extra missions, additional Skells, or gameplay enhancements to further enrich the experience. While nothing has been confirmed yet, the potential for DLC remains high.

|
If DLC content will be added to the Definitive Edition, more missions could be addded. These missions could involve high-level enemies, rare rewards, or even unique Skells to pilot.
They might also provide deeper insights into the lore of Mira, giving players more reasons to explore its vast landscapes.
Side stories could offer new interactions with characters, revealing more about their backstories or unresolved plot points. These quests could also introduce new NPCs or bring back familiar faces with expanded dialogue and objectives.
New DLC could add powerful new bosses, offering players a fresh challenge beyond the base game’s most difficult enemies. These bosses might appear in hidden locations, requiring players to complete specific tasks before encountering them.
They could also drop exclusive gear, weapons, or Skell upgrades, making them worthwhile for experienced players looking for an endgame challenge.
Additional post-game content could introduce new explorable areas, secret dungeons, or even gameplay enhancements like new Skell abilities or weapons.
If Monolith Soft chooses to expand on the game’s ending, this content might provide a more definitive conclusion or even set up potential future installments in the Xenoblade series. This could also include harder difficulty modes or time-based challenges for players seeking an extra layer of replayability.
Past Xenoblade DLC Contents |

|
Previous Xenoblade titles have received significant DLC expansions, making it possible that Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition could follow a similar path.
Xenoblade Chronicles X originally had DLC in Japan, including new story missions, characters, and Skells, but these were included as free updates in the Western release.
Xenoblade Chronicles 2 featured a large-scale expansion, Torna – The Golden Country, which served as a prequel story with new characters and gameplay mechanics. The game also received various updates with new Blades, quests, and challenge modes.
Xenoblade Chronicles 3 also had a major DLC expansion, Future Redeemed, which introduced a new storyline tying together past games in the series. Like Xenoblade Chronicles 2, it also had additional content updates, including challenge battles, new heroes, and weapons.
