Yelv's Arts synergize with dealing damage via melee combat. Start with Astrolibrium for buffs due to almost all of his melee Arts dealing Beam damage. Use Starfall Rondo, Starfall Blade and crucial melee arts like Starfall Blossom and Galactic Cataclysm.
Supporting Yelv with Arts like Astral Heal and Astral Purge to keep HP up and remove debuffs will allow Yelv to maintain survivability due to him being melee-ranged. The last slot can either be fitted with Subterfuge for putting down enemy resistance or Gravity Cloak to increase his Gravity resistance.

Yelv has a very good set of Skills to support his Arts, the best ones to pick would be Beam Boost, Supreme Sword and Synchrony to boost his Beam and melee attacks even more. Other skills that can sync with this build are Knight's Soul or Secondary Accelerator.
Yelv preferably should be in a Skell to take advantage of his Synchrony skill, further enhancing his damage when using one.

Best Role During Combat
Good Melee Beam DPS
Yelv takes advantage of his melee and Beam-based attacks to deal alot of damage without relying on ranged attacks. This extreme focus on dealing some of the best damage-types in the game allows him to go toe-to-toe and be usable all the way to endgame.
His kit is generally solid kit that can be used by players with minimal difficulty although his abilities are best paired with a Skell.
