Highguard’s Website Shut Down Has Players Expecting the Worst
Users Discover the Official Website is No Longer Available

Highguard’s official website has mysteriously gone offline, and players are growing increasingly concerned about 2026’s polarizing first-person shooter. Some users are even worried that it may eventually get the axe after the discovery of its website’s vanishing following the company’s recent layoffs.
Players are growing increasingly concerned that Highguard, one of the most polarizing first-person shooters of 2026, may eventually get the axe after discovering that its official website is currently unavailable.
Attempting to access playhighguard.com now redirects users to a response page stating that the site is unavailable, with players instead being pointed toward the first-person shooter’s official Discord and X (formerly Twitter) accounts. Wildlight Entertainment, the developers of Highguard, have not addressed this issue yet.
One perplexing bit from the website was that some users reported being redirected to an entirely different destination after clicking the Discord link. Instead of leading to Highguard’s official server, the link reportedly sent players to a channel promoting a High Guard Gaming Guild. Fortunately, the issue has since been resolved, and the link now correctly directs users to the game’s official Discord server, as intended
Players Fear a Shutdown is Coming

Following the website’s bizarre disappearance, players fear that Highguard may suffer the same fate as Concord, the controversial first-person hero shooter from Firewalk Studios that received a full shutdown announcement just two weeks after launch, following poor player numbers and overwhelmingly negative reception.
Those concerns appear increasingly justified, as Highguard is going in a similar direction to Concord. The studio behind the game was recently hit by a devastating round of layoffs that reportedly eliminated around 80% of its workforce, leaving only a small core team to maintain the game for the foreseeable future. Its most recent update, which brought 5v5, a new wolf Warden, did not bring anything substantial to bump up its numbers.

Former Wildlight Entertainment developers have since spoken out about their experiences working on Highguard, with one claiming the project was "turned into a joke from minute one," in a now-deleted Tweet, suggesting that even those on the inside were aware of where things were heading.
Users all over the Highguard subreddit are already posting about the possible shutdown after noticing that player numbers seem to hover around the sub-2000s with no signs of growth. The layoffs were just the final nail in the coffin for players who believed Highguard could turn things around, hoping that it would get the same redemption arc as that of Hello Games’ No Man’s Sky.
Highguard’s fate remains uncertain, but the warning signs of a potential shutdown are becoming increasingly difficult to ignore. The first-person shooter appears to have little life left in it, unless Wildlight Entertainment builds up more morale to keep the game going.
