The January 2026 Spotlight Banners have officially been announced. This includes the arrival of Christmas Oguri Cap, who will likely be a dominant racer for the rest of the year. Tamamo Cross is also a good pick as a strong End Closer.
There are also decent support card banners this month with Mayano Top Gun (Speed SSR) being a good Speed card for Front Runners and Nice Nature (Daring to Dream) getting a rerun later in the month. Matikanefukukitaru Speed SSR is also an interesting pick due to having initial stats for all stats and effects that are normally seen in Pal cards.
Sagittarius Cup Champions Meeting (Jan 19 - Jan 29)
The Sagittarius Cup will be held from January 19 to 29, 2026. It is a Long race based on the Arima Kinen and will be the first Champions Meeting to be held in Winter.

Since the race parameters are fixed, you can start preparing a team of three Veteran Umamusume to compete in the Champions Meeting. It's best to train with the new Unity Cup scenario.
Arima Kinen Legend Races (Jan 22 - Jan 31)
A new set of Legend Races based on the Arima Kinen will run from January 22 to 31, 2026. You'll be able to obtain star pieces for Nice Nature (Poinsettia Ribbon), Grass Wonder (Stone-Piercing Blue), and Oguri Cap (Starlight Beat) by participating.
Christmas Story Event (Jan 5 - Jan 20)
A Christmas-themed Story Event, called Hungry for a Miracle, will be available from January 5, 2026 (UTC) and will run through January 20, 2026. The event will have bonuses for Oguri Cap, Biwa Hayahide, Mayano Top Gun, Narita Taishin, and Marvelous Sunday. This is a great opportunity to farm for materials, earn Carats. It's also highly recommended to max uncap the free Marvelous Sunday support card while it's available as it will have 15% Race Bonus, useful for the third scenario.
New Beginnings Event
The New Beginnings event celebrates the New Year with several rewards such as login bonuses, increased Hot Spring chances, and daily 10-pulls up to 10 times while the event is running. Based on the Japanese version, expect to get up to 4,200 Carats for free during the event.
Other additions with the event include Winter uniforms for the lobby and a new song in the Concert Theater.
New Year Story Event (Jan 29 - Feb 9)
Another Story Event, this time based on New Year celebrations, is expected to launch on January 29, 2026 (UTC) alongside the new T.M. Opera O and Haru Urara banner. The event will have bonuses for Haru Urara, T.M. Opera O, Admire Vega, Matikanefukukitaru, and Meisho Doto. Like the other story events, aim to progress as far as possible for Carats and Uncap Crystals.
New Story Chapter
Although it wasn't revealed in the calendar, we should see the release of Chapter 5 of the Main Story this January. This time, the story is centered around Silence Suzuka. Clearing this will reward a free Speed SSR which can be upgraded by spending Club Points, similar to past story support cards. We estimate this will release alongside the Tamamo Cross banner on January 22, 2026 (UTC).
