Increase velocity enthusiastically when positioned toward the front in the second half of the race after recovering endurance with a skill. |
|---|
A Kiss for Courage activates when Maruzensky uses any recovery skill at any time during the race, and if she is in 1st to 3rd place during the second half of the race. Pairing it with consistent recovery skills like Corner Recovery (or its upgraded form Swinging Maestro), as well as a decent amount of Wit, will ensure that the Unique Skill will activate.

Maruzensky (Hot☆Summer Night) is a strong Front Runner, and will remain strong and relevant even after other Front Runners are introduced to the game in the future. She is beaten only by Mihono Bourbon (CODE: ICING).
Her Unique Skill is different from her original counterpart's as it provides velocity instead of acceleration. However, this makes it synergize well with other acceleration Skills, such as the Unique Skill Angling and Scheming.
As such, Maruzensky (Hot☆Summer Night) is a must pull, and can serve as a great Veteran to make your Front Runners stronger alongside Seiun Sky and Kitasan Black.
| Training Tips |
|---|
|
|

When training Maruzensky, use the brand new Trackblazer (MANT) scenario, as this will allow you to get higher stats than before. Try to participate in 30 to 35 races during your career runs while making sure to prioritize winning G1 races.
Maruzensky's B aptitude for Sprint and Medium races, as well as her C aptitude for Long races, means that rivals can appear on all race lengths. While increasing her aptitude for all of these race lengths to A can help her performance in those races become more stable, it is not required.
Trackblazer (Make a New Track) Scenario Guide
Similar to her original counterpart, Maruzensky (Hot☆Summer Night) should only be run as a Front Runner, as trying to raise her aptitude for other running styles will take up too many sparks.
Maruzensky is a great pick for Mile Team Trial races, so improving her Mile aptitude can help her get stronger in said races.
Although Maruzensky has to race in the Arima Kinen in her career, it is not required to improve her Long aptitude as she only needs to participate in the race.
Since Maruzensky runs both Mile and Medium races during her career, investing in Front Runner Skills may be better, as this allows her to use them regardless of the race length.
This doesn't mean, however, that you shouldn't get race-length-specific skills. They are still good to get, especially when preparing for a Champions Meeting.
Maruzensky (Hot☆Summer Night) has access to numerous velocity skills (including her Unique Skill), but no easy access to acceleration skills. As you need a balance of both, make sure to get acceleration skills, be it from your Support Cards or from inherited Unique Skills such as Seiun Sky's Angling and Scheming.
One of the activation requirements for Maruzensky (Hot☆Summer Night)'s Unique Skill is that she has activated a Recovery skill. As such, learning a Recovery skill is required to make sure that she can use her Unique Skill. To increase your chances of activating a Recovery skill, make sure to train Maruzensky (Hot☆Summer Night)'s Wit, which should be doable thanks to her 15% bonus Wit growth.
Examples of good Recovery skills include Corner Recovery, Triple 7s, and Moxie (as well as its upgraded form Restless), with the last three skills being easily available to Maruzensky (Hot☆Summer Night) as Innate and Potential Skills.
It is important to note that Gold Recovery skills are not required unless you plan to use Maruzensky in a Medium race.
Improving Maruzensky's Potential gives you access to some useful skills, such as Triple 7s and Mile Maven. As such, try to improve her Potential if you have the Monies and materials.
Racing and winning in the Radio Nikkei Sho during Classic Year Early July will trigger a secret event that improves Maruzensky's mood, give her additional stats and Skill points (base 60 Skill points from a G3 race), and provides the Hot Topic status effect.
Although this will take away one of your Summer training sessions, the rewards that you get are worth it. It is important to note, however, that this secret event is not available during the Trackblazer scenario.
| 1200 | 600 | 800 | 500 | 1000 |
Since Maruzensky will be part of your Mile Team in Team Trials as a Front Runner, we recommend getting the stats above so she has enough Speed and Power to beat the competition. Investing in Gold Recovery skills is not required, although you do need at least one recovery skill to help activate her Unique Skill.
If you are only planning to clear a career run with Maruzensky, then you can aim for lower stat numbers, as the stats above are for Team Trials.
Training Guide: Which Stats to Train?
For Maruzensky's Support Cards, we recommend running a mixed deck consisting of 2 Speed and 3 Wit cards, as well as 1 Race Bonus filler. This will help Maruzensky get all of the stats she needs as a Front Runner in Mile races. The filler cards can be for any stat as long as you have at least 50 Race Bonus.
If you find yourself easily reaching the Speed cap thanks to the two Speed cards and Maruzensky's 15% Speed growth, you can replace one Speed card with a Race Bonus filler.
Due to the nature of the Trackblazer (MANT) Scenario, it is important to prioritize cards with high Race Bonus.
This deck consists mostly of SR cards, and are meant for players who do not have many SSR Support Cards. Despite the lower rarity, this deck can still hold up and perform well in the latest scenario. Take advantage of the game's borrowing feature to borrow a powerful MLB SSR, like Matikane Fukukitaru (Touching Sleeves Is Good Luck! ♪).
These cards will help Maruzensky level her needed Stats (especially with Rainbow/Friendship Training), as well as provide some needed skills. Try to prioritize cards with a high Race Bonus, as you want at least 50% Race Bonus in your deck.
If you plan to run the Unity Cup, we recommend using either a Speed-Wit deck or a Speed-Power deck to help Maruzensky get the stats she needs.
Unity Cup (Aoharu Hai) Scenario Guide
If you plan to run the URA Finale, we recommend using a Speed-Power deck to help Maruzensky get the stats she needs.

| 12★ Stamina 6★ Power |
|
| 3★ Front Runner 3★ Mile 1★ Medium (Optional) 1★ Sprint (Trackblazer) 4★ Long (Trackblazer) |
For Legacy Sparks, we recommend trying to find Stamina and Power sparks to help with Maruzensky's races. As for running style and race length aptitudes, get Front Runner to improve her running style, as well as Mile sparks to help her in Team Trials. It's also possible to get Medium sparks to help her in her Medium career races, but this is not required.
If you are training in the Trackblazer scenario, getting at least 1 Sprint and Medium spark, as well as 4 Long sparks can help Maruzensky's performance in these races become more stable. This is, however, not required, as she can still perform well without them (except in Long).
You can use either your own Veterans, or borrow the ones from your friends. If you do not have Veterans with full sparks, you can go with whatever you have access to.
As a Front Runner, Maruzensky will need skills that will help her get to the front and keep her lead. Groundwork is a great skill for securing an early lead. However, you need to make sure that you can activate at least three skills early for Groundwork to activate. Green Skills can help activate Groundwork, as well as Taking the Lead and Focus. Mile Maven is another good early-race skill to have that can provide an early velocity boost.
While running, corner velocity skills such as Professor of Curvature, as well as Mile and Front Runner Corners will help her keep her position, with Fast-Paced, and Playtime's Over! doing a similar job.
Triple 7s is the recommended general recovery skill for Maruzensky as this allows her to activate her Unique Skill in the mid-race, where it will have the most impact. This is especially good for 1800m long races, as her Unique Skill will last until the start of the late race, potentially comboing with other late-race skills like Angling and Scheming and Red Shift/LP1211-M for a decisive victory.
If you cannot get the recommended skills, you can replace them with similar skills that you have access to. You will just need to make sure that Maruzensky can activate said skills in a race.
