Daiwa Scarlet's Unique Skill activates during the second half of the race, and while she is either in first place with a runner right behind her, or in second place with someone she can overtake in front of her.

|
The tip above labeled with Non-TB is recommended only for a normal career outside of Trackblazer.

When training Daiwa Scarlet, use the brand new Trackblazer (MANT) scenario, as this will allow you to get higher stats than before. Try to get 30-33 wins during your career runs, although you can race more for more coins and items.
Daiwa Scarlet can comfortably run the Mile-Medium-Long race schedule rotation, which gives access to a lot of Trackblazer epithets, since she already has A aptitude in Mile and Medium with a B aptitude in Long. To secure her strength in all 3 aptitudes, we recommend just get a 1★ Long spark to raise her remaining B aptitude to A.
Though Daiwa Scarlet is a Pace Chaser by default, it is recommend to run her as a Front Runner to maximize your chances of activating her Unique Skill. The positional requirements of this skill require her to be at least in 1st or 2nd place.
This isn't to say that you should overlook the Pace Chaser style completely, which still has its benefits. Should you choose to keep her style as a Pace Chaser, she still has the benefit of Race Planner and Prepared to Pass in her potential kit. It will just be harder to get her to activate her unique skill in a competitive environment in this style.

Try to reach at least Potential Level 3 so you can gain access to Killer Tunes, a strong general mid-race Medium skill that boosts velocity and is suitable for both Daiwa Scarlet as a Front Runner and Pace Chaser.
If you want to run Daiwa Scarlet exclusively as a Pace Chaser, max her Potential Level to 5 to gain access to Race Planner.
Since Daiwa Scarlet will mainly be built for Medium races post-career, it is recommended you get some Medium sparks to help get raise her Medium aptitude from A to S.
Note that this event is only active outside of the Trackblazer scenario. Before Daiwa Scarlet's career race in Late May of the Classic Year, you will encounter the event "Her". In this event, you will decide which race Daiwa Scarlet will compete in: the Japanese Oaks or the Japanese Derby.
If it is your first time training Daiwa Scarlet, or you are not yet used to the game, it is highly recommended that you race in the Japanese Oaks. This is because choosing to race in the Japanese Derby will have you compete against Vodka, who is a difficult opponent this early in the game.
Additionally, racing and winning in the Japanese Oaks is a requirement if you want to get the Triple Tiara.

Daiwa Scarlet will be part of your Medium Team Trials team as a Front Runner, so we recommend getting the stats above so she has enough Speed and Stamina for the entirety of the race. We also recommend getting a Gold Recovery skill like Swinging Maestro to both lower the Stamina requirement and counter potential debuffers.
If you are only planning to clear a career run with Daiwa Scarlet, then you can aim for lower stat numbers, as the stats above are for Team Trials.
For Daiwa Scarlet's Support Cards as a Front Runner, we recommend running a mixed deck of 2 Speed and 2 Wit cards. The rest can be 2 Race Bonus fillers. The filler cards can be for any stat as long as you have at least 50 Race Bonus. For gold recovery skills in Medium distance, we recommend Super Creek (Piece of Mind). For a welfare option, you can try Silence Suzuka (Searching for Unseen Sights).
Due to the nature of the Trackblazer (MANT) Scenario, it is important to prioritize cards with high Race Bonus.
This Front Runner deck consists mostly of SR cards, and are meant for players who do not have many SSR Support Cards. Despite the lower rarity, this deck can still hold up and perform well in the latest scenario. For a strong MLB SSR, we recommend you borrow Matikane Fukukitaru (Touching Sleeves Is Good Luck! ♪).

These cards will help Daiwa Scarlet levelup her needed Stats (especially with Rainbow/Friendship Training), as well as provide some needed skills. Try to prioritize cards with a high Race Bonus, as you want at least 50% Race Bonus in your deck.
We recommend a 3 Speed, 2 Power, 1 Pal deck for Daiwa Scarlet. This will get you the Speed and Power you need, with the Stamina coming from Power training, Legacy Sparks, and Riko Kashimoto during her Career Events. Alternatively, you can also run a 2 Speed, 3 Wit, 1 Pal deck to maximize your training time.
Rice Shower (Happiness Just around the Bend) in particular is a great Power card, as it can give you the Gold recovery skill Swinging Maestro through her Career Events. If you do not have Riko Kashimoto (Planned Perfection), you can instead use a fully uncapped Riko Kashimoto (Tracen Academy).
These stats are enough to clear the URA Finale easily, as they provide enough Speed, Stamina, and Power for all of Daiwa Scarlet's career races, especially when partnered with the correct skills. As for the deck, you can either run a 3 Speed, 3 Stamina deck, or a 3 Speed, 2 Stamina, 1 Pal deck, with Tazuna Hayakawa as the preferred Pal card.

| 9★ Stamina 9★ Stamina |
|
| 3★ Medium 1★ Long (Trackblazer) 3★ Front Runner |
A split of Stamina and Power sparks, or a full set of either, is usually recommended. For Trackblazer, you'll want just 1★ Long to raise her Long aptitude from B to A, completing A grade in all three aptitudes Mile to Long. For PvP, you'll want some Medium sparks to get a chance in bringing her Medium aptitude to S.
You can use either your own Veterans, or borrow the ones from your friends. If you do not have Veterans with full sparks, you can go with whatever you have access to.
Have at least 1 gold recovery skill for Medium races in Team Trials.
As a Front Runner, Daiwa Scarlet will need skills that help her get to the front of the pack and maintain her lead. Groundwork will help you accomplish this in the early race, although you do need to get 3 early-race skills to activate it. You can achieve this using 3 passive (green) skills, or with early-race skills like Taking the Lead.
Complement this with various speed skills like Killer Tunes and Professor of Curvature to help her keep her lead. Swinging Maestro or Trackblazer can be your main Recovery skill, providing stamina to help you get through Medium races. Angling and Scheming is the best Unique Skill for Daiwa Scarlet, as this will help her accelerate in the late-race when she's in the lead.
If you cannot get the recommended skills, you can replace them with similar skills that you have access to. You will just need to make sure that Daiwa Scarlet can activate said skills in a race.

She usually plays the role of the perfect, mild-mannered honor student, but the truth is that she hates losing more than anything else. If it'll help her be number one, she'll go through any training—no matter how grueling. She sees her rather showy roommate Vodka as both her motivation and her rival. | ||
