What is the Path of the Ronin?

Season 2 Launch Event for MW2 and Warzone 2.0

Path of the Ronin is the launch event that kicks-off the Season 2 release for Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2.0. Players will be given 7 challenges to complete, offering them chances to earn rewards ranging from customization items to weapon unlocks for the new season.

Choose to Complete Challenges for Either MW2 or Warzone 2.0

Each of the 7 challenges in Path of the Ronin will offer 2 choices: one challenge for MW2 and one for Warzone 2.0. Players can complete either of the two in order to fulfill the requirements for each of the 7 challenges.

Challenge 01: Integrity

Integrity is the first challenge in the Path of the Ronin Season 2 event. Players will need to win 15 matches in any MW2 Multiplayer game mode or get 5 top 10 Finishes in Warzone BR to complete this challenge.

Since Integrity challenges revolve around getting wins or high placements, make sure to squad up and play with other players you've had good results with. Use the Social Menu to find others willing to party up for this challenge set.

Challenge 02: Honor

Honor is the second challenge in the Path of the Ronin Season 2 event. Players will need to get 100 objective defense kills in MW2 Multiplayer or collect their dog tag 5 times in Restore Honor for Warzone Resurgence.

For multiplayer, play game modes like Hardpoint or Ground War to rack up kills while sitting on the objective. For those looking to finish Restore Honor, the easiest way to get your dog tag 5 times is to play Resurgence due to the easier respawn mechanics in that BR game mode.

Challenge 03: Sincerity

Sincerity is the third challenge in the Path of the Ronin Season 2 event. Players will need to get 50 kills using Battle Rage in MW2 Multiplayer or complete 5 Assassination Contracts in Warzone BR.

For multiplayer, equip the Battle Rage Field Upgrade and push enemies aggressively to secure the needed kills. For Warzone, simply take on Bounty Contracts and complete them to reach the 5 needed for the challenge.

Path of the Ronin Season 2 Event Rewards

Complete All 7 Challenges to Unlock the Crossbow

Completing all 7 challenges will reward players with the Crossbow. This brand new weapon is one of the 5 new weapons arriving in Season 2, and unlocking it will make it available for us in Multiplayer, Warzone 2.0, and DMZ.

Unique Rewards for Each Completed Challenge

At the time of writing, there has been very little info regarding the rewards for completing the individual challenges. However, players can expect to get customization items for their troubles such as calling cards, emblems, weapon stickers, or weapon charms.

Do You Need a Copy of MW2 to Participate?

No, Since Each Challenge Will Have 2 Options

Even though Season 2 brings some exclusive content for MW2 owners, the Path of the Ronin challenge event is open to all players of either MW2 or Warzone 2.0. Free-to-play users will not need to own a copy of MW2 in order to complete the challenges for this event as you can simply stick to the Warzone-specific challenges to finish the event.
