Malt is the major ingredient in the production of Ale in Manor Lords. See how to get Malt and how to use it as you expand your territory!
To make and distribute Ale in Manor Lords, you need to farm and harvest Barley, convert the Barley into Malt with a Malthouse, build a Brewery extension on a level 2 Burgage Plot, and build a Tavern. The process can get pretty tedious, so we'll break down each step for you.
The first step to making Malt is building a field and farmhouse in the right location. Malt starts out as Barley, so you have to build your farm on top of land with high Barley fertility.
You can check out which areas have high Barley fertility while you're plotting your field. The view options will be on the right side of your screen. The greener the area, the better it is for planting Barley.
Click on your field and choose Barley as its crop, then assign some families to your farmhouse. The more families you have working in the farmhouse, the faster you can harvest your Barley and make Ale.
After planting and harvesting Barley, build a Malthouse to convert the Barley into Malt. We recommend placing your Malthouse near the farm so it takes less time to transport your goods.
If you have a surplus of Regional Wealth, you can opt to build a Trading Post and import Malt directly. This can help supply Malt to your Malthouse, especially if your settlement has grown too large that the demand exceeds your current supply.
If your region is not ideal for planting Barley, you can still get Malt by importing Barley or Malt. This way your Malthouse can still get a supply of Barley and convert it into Malt.
