Fires are unfortunate disasters that will destroy your buildings in Manor Lord. Check out how building fires start, how to put them out, and what happens to a building after it catches on fire.
List of Contents
As soon as a fire starts, your villagers will rush to put it out automatically . There's no option to prioritize putting out a fire and you'll have to wait for the townsfolk to gather water from a well and put it out themselves.
Once a building is set on fire, there's no way to save it and it will automatically turn into Rubble when the fire starts. After the fire's been put out, you'll have to rebuild the building to get it back.
For the villagers to get the water needed to put out a fire, they will need access to a nearby Well. Make sure to build two or more wells around your settlement so that your villagers can quickly put out a fire regardless of its location.
One way a fire can start is when a building is struck by lightning during a Thunderstorm. Unfortunately, there is no way to prevent this from happening except by setting the Weather Events option to None during the Game Setup.
Do note that if the Weather Events option is set to Difficult and there's a Thunderstorm, fires are more likely to happen. Be prepared to face this challenge and stock up on enough resources to rebuild any building that gets destroyed.
All Seasons and Weather Effects
Fire can also be started by Raiders that have infiltrated your town. Make sure that you create a strong defensive line to stop any foes from getting past your army and destroying one of your buildings.
If you have a low Public Order, your citizens will start committing crimes and turn to banditry. Try to keep your Public Order at a 100% since anything below that will have a chance to turn citizens into bandits.
Note that at really low percentages, your villagers will permanently turn into bandits. Make sure that you're satisfying your citizens' needs so that this doesn't happen.
