How to Get Development Points
You can get development points by upgrading your settlement level and expanding to a new region. You can get a total of 6 development points everytime you max out a settlement level in a region.
Upgrade Your Settlement Level
The only way to get development points in Manor Lords is to upgrade your settlement level. There are currently 6 levels to climb that will provide a total of 6 development points per region.

| 1 | Settler's Camp (Default Starting Class) |
| 2 | Small Village |
| 3 | Medium Village |
| 4 | Large Village |
| 5 | Small Town |
| 6 | Medium Town |
| 7 | Large Town |
How to Increase Settlement Level
Expand to a New Region
Players can also get new development points when they expand to a new region but they can't be used in the old region. A total of 6 new development points can be acquired again as you level up your new settlement in the new region.
How to Claim and Settle a Region
Development Tree Resets For The New Region
As mentioned, starting anew in a new region will also reset the development tree. The developments you unlocked in the first settlement will not carry over to the new region and you have to upgrade your settlement again from scratch to get 6 new development points.
This opens up the possibility of having specializations per region depending on the most abundant resource of the region.
Can You Respec Development Points?
No, You Cannot Respec Development Points
Unfortunately, you cannot respec development points in Manor Lords. When you have purchased a development point for that region, you are now locked to that development so think long and hard when spending development points.

The main purpose of development points is to purchase developments in the Developments tree. They also provide passive upgrades to your settlement.
