Restoring the Peace is a Scenario Template in Manor Lords. See how to beat Restoring the Peace, and how to get achievements related to Restoring the Peace in this guide!
Restoring the Peace's victory condition is Domination, where you have to eliminate the enemy lord by claiming all of their territories. Keep a steady flow of Influence so that you have enough to claim their regions.
Each region costs 1000 Influence to claim, while enemy-controlled regions cost 2000. At a minimum, you will need to spend 4000 Influence to claim their initial two regions, and it can go up to 14000 Influence if you let them claim all seven regions that aren't initially yours.
How to Win a Domination Victory
Hildebolt's Final Army |
---|
List of Units |
・2x Retinue (36) ・4x Light Mercenary Infantry (36) ・2x Light Mercenary Spearmen (36) ・3x Light Mercenary Archers (36) ・1x Brigands (18) |
As a last stand, Baron Hildebolt will send out a massive army comprised of 12 different units. Be prepared for a tough battle as this is the biggest army the game throws at you.
You'll want to fill your army with Militia first before recruiting any other kind of unit. This is because you can't recruit Militia if your army already has 6 units.
Focus on getting these kinds of units first so that you can further expand your army with Retinue and Mercenaries later.
Besides your Retinue, Archers will be the second-best unit in your army. They can easily flank and kill enemy units while safely firing arrows from afar. Make sure to protect these units so that you can easily pick off the enemy troops one by one.
Before you set your claim on Hildebolt's final region, you'll want to increase your army size by recruiting more Retinue. Claim other regions first so that you can build multiple Manors with Garrison Towers, which will give you more Retinue that bypasses the unit cap.
At the start of every month, Mercenary Companies will become available for hire. Make sure you have enough Treasury saved up to hire these units since they aren't affected by the max unit cap.
Also, mercenaries will no longer be available for hire the later the game goes. Don't forget to hire them whenever you can, otherwise, you might lose the chance to do so later down the line.
Restoring the Peace Achievements |
---|
|
Restoring the Peace has 4 Achievements associated with it, and all except Challenge Accepted can be done on Relaxing or Default Difficulties.
You can get Restoring the Peace, Defeat Hildebolt, and Mercenary Captain in a single, lower difficulty run before proceeding with Challenge Accepted.
You can unlock these two Achievements simultaneously by claiming all enemy territories and eliminating Baron Hildebolt to beat the Restoring the Peace scenario.
Securing a steady income of influence is the main obstacle you will face after establishing the foundations and economy of your empire.
You can increase your Influence by increasing your Settlement Level, clearing out Bandit Camps, building Manors, and setting a Tithe and Policies.
When your Empire and Army are strong enough, we recommend prioritizing defeating bandits to get the influence needed to claim other regions. This way, you only need to spend 1000 influence to claim a region, and you prevent the Baron from claiming neutral regions for himself.
How to Claim and Settle a Region
When you see that the enemy is trying to claim a region, click the option to challenge it so that you can go to war over the territory. This way you can claim a region for yourself without having to spend any influence to get it.
You will unlock Mercenary Captain when you finish the Restoring the Peace Scenario with only Mercenaries. You cannot use Militia or Retinues in battle, and you will be reliant on Mercenaries when defeating enemy armies.
You will need a lot of Treasury to build an army composed of only mercenaries. We recommend upgrading your Burgage Plots to level 2 as soon as possible to kickstart your monthly Regional Wealth income.
Next, build a Trading Post to increase your Regional Wealth and a Manor to convert accumulated Regional Wealth into Treasury by setting a Monthly Land Tax.
Challenge Accepted is one of the hardest achievements to get in the game, as it requires you to beat Restoring the Peace on the Challenging Difficulty. Baron Hildebolt is extra aggressive, Bandit Camps are plentiful, and Raids will be more frequent.
Furthermore, Residential Requirements and Approval Penalties are more demanding, so we recommend planning out your building priorities in advance.
We recommend building a Granary and Storehouse immediately to preserve your starting supplies against weather events such as rain. The growth of your initial settlement will be crippled if your starting supplies are destroyed.
Once your settlement's population has grown, set your army as one of your next priorities. In Challenging Difficulty, enemy Lords can press claim to your region, and raiders will run through your settlement's supply without defenses.
