To upgrade a Burgage Plot to Level 2, you'll need a Well, a Wooden Church, and a Marketplace, with Firewood, Food, and Clothing Stalls that sell the necessary requirements. Make sure that these buildings are connected to your Burgage Plots via a Road so that they can supply the necessary resources.
Do note that you don't need all three types of Clothing to upgrade a Burgage Plot to Level 2. Just have at least one type of Linen, Leather, or Yarn Clothing Stall.
Upgrading a Burgage Plot to Level 2 will allow you to passively gain 1 Regional Wealth for each family within the lot per month.
You also unlock the option to add Artisan Extensions to make the families within the Burgage Plots Artisans. However, keep in mind that this option is permanent and any families in this plot cannot be assigned to anything else.

To upgrade a Burgage Plot to Level 3, you'll need a Tavern supplied with Ale, an upgraded Small Stone Church, and a third food source plus Shoes, Clothes, or Cloaks for the Marketplace. You'll also need some of the Level 2 resource requirements, so make sure that you still have a supply of these items on hand.
Similar to the Linen, Leather, and Yarn, you don't need all three Shoes, Clothes, or Cloaks to upgrade a Burgage Plot to Level 3. You'll only need at least one type of Linen, Leather, or Yarn and at least one type of Shoes, Clothes, or Cloaks Clothing Stall.
Level 3 Burgage Plots provide an additional living space so more families can move in without creating more plots. If the plot has an expansion, the plot can house up to 4 families.
You will also gain 2 Regional Wealth for each family within the upgraded lot per month when you upgrade your Burgage Plot to level 3. With this in mind, when 4 Families are housed in this lot, your settlement can earn 8 Regional Wealth per month.
Burgage Plots are the residential units in Manor Lords. Building Burgage Plots will help you get rid of homelessness and increase your population. Take note that Families will only join in Burgage Plots if there are unused living spaces in the structures, and your approval is high.
A Burgage Plot provides at least 1 living space for any family living in your settlement. If a Burgage Plot can be expanded but not to the point of adding another Burgage Plot, then the structure can simply be augmented to accommodate an additional 1 living space at the cost of 2 Timbers.
In addition to providing housing for your families, Burgage Plots also passively generate a small amount of regional wealth. However, you will need to level up the Burgage Plot to Level 2 first before it starts passively gaining regional wealth.
If you plot your Burgage Plots large enough, you can add Backyard Extensions. These extensions can provide your settlement more resources which you can use or trade away.
You can find Burgage Plots in the Residential tab of the building interface. You can also press H to start drawing flexible borders. A Burgage Plot costs 2 Timbers to build.

Select an area in your settlement to plot your structure and decide what area points will encompass your Burgage Plots. They have flexible borders and you can plot multiple Burgage Plots in one go.
Depending on how large you plot out the size of your Burgage Plot will determine if you can add Backyard Extensions or expand living space in it. This can easily be seen once you reduce your Burgage Plot division.
Before starting construction, you have the option to rotate the plot, as well as adding or reducing plot divisions. Look for the rotating arrow and the + and - options beside the Hammer (construct) button.
Once you've started construction, you can also set your Burgage Plots’ construction priority.
Burgage Plot Construction Requirements | |
---|---|
2 Timber |
Burgage Plots are Level 1 by default, but can be increased to Level 2 if requirements are met. These requirements include settlement levels, construction materials, amenities, market supplies, and regional wealth.
Raising your Burgage Plot levels can help increase your generated Regional Family Wealth, provide additional living space for your family settlers, and allow for the construction of more backyard extensions.
Note that each requirement needs to be satisfied by specific resources. This can range from having 3 different kinds of food sources to having a certain good supplied at the market.
Click on the Burgage Plot you want to upgrade and hover over the diamonds so that you can check what exactly you'll need to satisfy a requirement.
