One of the methods to get lamb is to import them from your established Livestock Trading Posts.
Livestock Trading Post - How to Build and Use
You could also get lamb by using the Sheepbreeding upgrade from the Development skill tree.
After constructing a Livestock Trading Post, establish a Pasture nearby to provide settlement for your imported sheep. It is recommended that the pasture holds at least 30 livestock to make room for several lambs.
You will need to import Sheep from the Livestock Trading Post and wait for the traders to come near your area. One sheep is enough to produce lambs. Make sure your pasture is already built to avoid a bug that prevents the sheep from moving to the pasture.
You need to unlock the Sheepbreeding upgrade from the Farming section of the Development skill tree for your sheep to breed and produce lambs.
Do note that it may take up to several months or at least a year before you can see lambs running around in your pasture so patience will be necessary in this endeavor.
One of the main differences between the Lamb and Sheep is that the latter could breed using the Sheepbreeding upgrade.
Lambs cannot breed, which forces them to rely on importation and sheep breeding to have their numbers increased.
It is recommended to invest your resources in acquiring Sheep rather than Lamb, as it boasts several methods of production compared to its newborn counterpart.
You also gradually increase your sheep supply as well when producing lambs, given that the lambs eventually turn into sheep as you progress the game.
Unlike Lambs, Sheep grazing on your established Pasture can be sheared to produce Wool using a Sheep Farm constructed on your settlement.
One difference that Lambs have over Sheep is that the former will eventually turn into the latter when you've progressed enough in the game.
Once your Lambs turn into Sheep, they can supply you with Wool that can help provide your settlers with clothes. You will first need to construct a Sheep Farm for the assigned family to shear Wool from your grazing sheep.
From there, you will need to establish a Weaver's Workshop so that the Wool can be converted into Yarn. It is recommended that these constructions be built near each other to streamline the production process of Yarn.
You could also export your Lambs through the Livestock Trading Posts to earn wealth for your settlement. You could also wait for your Lambs to turn into Sheep, then export them as such given that Sheep are more valuable than Lambs in the market.
As of the Early Access 0.7.953 Version, lambs acquired from either importation or sheepbreeding will eventually turn into sheep in the game. This means that your supply of sheep can increase through import or sheepbreeding once your lambs turn into sheep.
Lambs will take at least 1 year before they turn into Sheep, so make sure to check your Pasture now and then to know their status.
Unfortunately, it seems like there's a bug that prevents some Lambs to turn into Sheep which can lower your trading efficiency. We suggest selling the Lambs if it doesn't grow up after a year, as it may be bugged. This opens up precious pasture space that can be used by a non-bugged Lamb.
Lamb is one of the available livestock you can raise in your settlement. These livestock include Sheep, Oxen, Horses, and Mules, and some of them provide resources that can help supply your settlement.
You can acquire them through import from the Livestock Trading Post.
