In the Restoring the Peace scenario, you get into a diplomatic correspondence with the Baron, Hildebolt van Bereneute. You can use this to borrow silver, declare war, or just send rhetoric letters expressing your disdain against the evil lord.

Declare Surprise War on the Baron

Manor Lords - Requires Influence to declare war on the Baron
As of Early Access, diplomacy is simply just a way to contact the Baron. You can use this option to declare a Surprise War against him when you have enough Influence points.

Do keep in mind that this feature is a "Work in Progress" and will be buggy. It will undergo a lot of changes before it becomes fully functional. Stay tuned for updates!
