List of Contents
There are two ways to get Sheep in Manor Lords. One is through importing using the Livestock Trading Post, and the other is through breeding with the Sheepbreeding development node.
Pros | Cons | |
---|---|---|
Through Trading | Get Sheep Quicker | Costly per Sheep |
Through Breeding | You only need 1 Sheep | Lambs take 1 year to mature |
Either method has its own strength and weakness. If it's your first time acquiring Sheep, provided that you have the Regional Wealth, it is recommended to go with the Livestock Trading Post. If you've already unlocked the Sheepbreeding development node, you can passively generate Sheep if you have even one in your Pasture.
The fastest way to get sheep is to trade for it in the Livestock Trading Post. Do the following steps to trade for this livestock if you are getting Sheep for the first time!
Construct the Livestock Trading Post. It will be located in the construction tab under the “Trade” buildings. It only costs 2 Timber and should be ideally placed along the King's Road for easier access to merchants.
All Trade Buildings and How to Use
Once you've constructed the building, select it, then go to the “Trade” tab. From there, look for the Sheep row.
Go to the Sheep row and change it from “No Trade” to “Import”. Trading for sheep will cost you 30 Regional Wealth per sheep, so make sure your settlement is rich enough to trade!
Import Price | 30 Regional Wealth |

Export Price | 20 Regional Wealth |
Make sure you have built a Pasture to house your sheep and a Sheep Farm to acquire Wool from them. Assign Families to these buildings and watch as your flock grows!
Turn your acquired Wool into Yarn in the Weaver's Workshop. Yarn is one of the materials needed to get Clothing Stalls in your market place, so be sure to acquire them as soons as you can!
You can get also passively generate Sheep in your pasture with the Sheepbreeding development node.
Sheepbreeding is an early development node you can get as soon as you reach Small Village status. After you've imported sheep from the Livestock Trading Post and constructed a Pasture for them to settle in, you will need to unlock the Sheepbreeding upgrade from the Farming section of the Development Skill Tree.
You will need at least one sheep from the Livestock Trading Post or one in your Pasture in order for the sheep to breed and produce lambs. There seems to be a bug that some Lambs might get stuck and not grow up to be Sheep. We suggest selling those Lambs for now until a fix has been implemented.
Ideally it is better to allocate a large space for your Pasture if you intend to breed Sheep. If your Pasture is too small it can get crowded easily and Sheep may run off if there is not enough space. You can also choose to export the excess Sheep from your pasture to generate Regional Wealth.
Sheep is one of the livestock you can acquire for your settlement. Other livestock includes Oxen, Horses, Mules, and Lambs. You can get these livestocks by trading for them in the Livestock Trading Post.
All Trade Buildings and How to Use
You can also export excess Sheep to get back some Regional Wealth. Prices may fluctuate depending on the supply and demand within a given territory.
