Game Setup and Difficulty Options
Gameplay Settings to Change |

・Always Enable Tutorial Popups ・Change Reaction When Enemy Was Spotted to Pause ・Turn Off Cosmetic Day and Night Cycle |
Unless you've already spent countless hours playing the game, you should always have tutorial popups enabled. These can still be useful even on your second or third playthroughs since the game will notify you about something you might not know about, like if a citizen catches a disease or if it's your first time doing farming for example.
By default, the game will slow down to 1x Speed whenever an enemy was spotted. Change this option to pause so that the game won't progress in case you've left the game to run by itself or your attention is focused elsewhere.
Day and Night Visual Differences | |
---|---|
Day | |
Night |
It's recommended to turn off the cosmetic day and night cycle. This is because the colours become more washed out during night, making it harder to differentiate buildings. However, if you prefer your game to look more aesthetically pleasing, or you don't care too much about darker colours, you can turn this setting on.

・Turn Off Volumetric Clouds ・Lower Graphics if the Game has Low FPS |
It's recommended to turn off Volumetric Clouds since they can obscure your vision while playing the game. This can be especially annoying if you're in the middle of a war and you can't properly control your units because you can't see exactly what's going on.
If you're game is starting to lag, or it takes a while for the game to process an action, considering lowering all of your graphics settings to the lowest possible setting. This way you won't have to worry about performance and you can play the game without any worries.
You should also do this if your town has a lot of citizens. This is because the game loads every single character model, and you'll want to lessen the amount of plants and textures the game loads to compensate for that.
System Requirements and Recommended Specs
Besides the settings mentioned above, every other setting can be changed depending on your preferences. For example, some players like the look of Camera Shake, but others may find it nauseating or disorientating. Head in to game your settings menu to experiment and see what works best for you.
