Crops are generally seen as an alternative source of food for your settlement as it yields more than naturally occuring Berry Deposits and Wild Animals. However some crops grow better depending on the season and location of the tilled earth.

How to Get Crops

Set Up A Farm

Crops are resources that require building a Farmhouse and setting up a plot of land to serve as the farmland. These need to be tended by families relative to the size of land you are able to allot. Crops will have to be rotated to keep the fertility of the soil. In addition, you may want to set up your farms in the areas where your prospected crop is better suited. Crops on their own cannot produce food, they still require buildings that can process them into food.

How to Use Crops

Used In Food Production

With the necessary buildings, you can turn Wheat into Grain and Flour, and ultimately to Bread. Barley can be turned into Malt, which can be further processed to be Ale.

Used in Production of Linen

Flax is a type of crop that isn't used for food production, but instead is used to produce Linen, a crafting material that can be used to make clothing.
