The unemployment rate in your settlement can determine your Public Order value in Manor Lords. If the unemployment rate remains unattended, the Public Order value will decrease in number and result to your population to resort in criminal activity and thievery.
One way to prevent unemployment is to provide living space for unassigned families. Once housed, families can help keep your economy afloat by assigning them with jobs or converting them into artisans.
How to Upgrade Burgage Plot Levels
It is important to assign jobs toward settlers who are currently unemployed to keep the Public Order value high. Assigning jobs can also help you manage your resources in your settlement.
If you plan to build Backyard Extensions requiring Level 2 Burgage Plots, you can convert settlers to artisans and further prevent the probable rise of unemployment.
To prevent everything from running into chaos, a Manor must be placed in your settlement to act as a structure of authority, and to ensure that Public Order is in optimal conditions.
Ale and people do not go hand in hand when you want to keep your Public Order value high. Try minimizing your production of ale and limit its distribution to your trade and tavern businesses.
You should also consider only building Taverns to help increase the level of your Burgage Plots in your settlements.
The lower your approval rating is with your settlers, the more likely they are to emigrate or turn to banditry. This, in turn, would affect the Public Order within your settlement.
Make sure that your approval is high as possible by ensuring that all of your settlers have enough supplies like food and fuel, as well as enough Burgage Plots to prevent homelessness.
How to Increase Approval to 100%
Public Order is a quantifying value that determines the probability of your population succumbing to criminal activity and thievery. If the value of Public Order is less than 100%, there is always a chance that crimes or looting will occur in your settlement.
You can check the Public Order value in your settlement by checking the rows of icons above your screen and hovering on the Scales of Justice icon. The said icon is located between the Approval Rating and Regional Wealth icons.
