Might: 16 Range: 1 Accelerates Special trigger (cooldown count-1). For unit and allies within 3 rows or 3 columns centered on unit, grants Atk/Spd/Def/Res+X (for unit, X = 15; for allies, X = 5), neutralizes foe's bonuses, and if unit or ally deals damage to foe during combat, restores 7 HP during combat, and also, if unit's or ally's Def ≥ foe's Def+5, disables unit's and foe's or ally's and foe's skills that change attack priority during combat. Unit deals +25 damage (excluding area-of-effect Specials), reduces damage from foe's attacks by 15 (excluding area-of-effect Specials), reduces damage from foe's Specials by an additional 15 (excluding area-of-effect Specials), and grants Special cooldown count-Y to unit before foe's first attack during combat (Y = number of allies within 3 rows or 3 columns centered on unit; max 3; if unit's Def > foe's Def, Y is treated as 3). |
|
Cooldown Count = 4 Boosts damage by 70% of unit's Def when Special triggers. If unit's or foe's Special is ready, or unit's or foe's Special triggered before or during this combat, and also, if unit's Def ≥ foe's Def-10, reduces damage from foe's next attack by 40% (once per combat; excluding area-of-effect Specials). |
|
Unit can counterattack regardless of foe's range. At start of turn, grants Atk/Spd/Def 【Great Talent】 +3 to unit and allies within 2 spaces of unit. For unit and allies on the map, deals damage = value of Def 【Great Talent】 (max 9; excluding area-of-effect Specials) and reduces damage from foe's attacks by value of Def 【Great Talent】 (max 9; excluding area-of-effect Specials). Grants Atk/Spd/Def+10 to unit, increases Spd difference necessary for foe to make a follow-up attack by 10, neutralizes effects that guarantee foe's follow-up attacks and effects that prevent unit's follow-up attacks, and reduces the percentage of foe's non-Special "reduce damage by X%" skills by 50% during combat (excluding area-of-effect Specials). (This skill grants max of 【Great Talent】 +18 for unit and 【Great Talent】 +9 for allies.) |
|
If unit is within 3 spaces of an ally, inflicts Atk/Spd-4 on foe, increases Spd difference necessary for foe to make a follow-up attack by 10, neutralizes penalties on unit, unit deals +15 damage (excluding area-of-effect Specials), and also, if foe triggers the "attacks twice" effect during combat, reduces damage by an additional 7 (excluding area-of-effect Specials). If unit is within 3 spaces of an ally and foe initiates combat, reduces damage by an additional X x 2 (X = distance from unit to foe; excluding area-of-effect Specials). |
|
If sword, lance, axe, bow, dagger, or beast foe initiates combat against an ally within 2 spaces of unit, triggers 【Savior】 on unit. If foe uses sword, lance, axe, bow, dagger, or beast damage, grants Spd/Def+4 to unit, disables foe's effects that "calculate damage using the lower of foe's Def or Res" (including area-of-effect Specials), any "reduces damage by X%" effect that can be triggered only once per combat by unit's equipped Special skill can be triggered up to twice per combat (excludes boosted Special effects from engaging; only highest value applied; does not stack), and restores 7 HP to unit when unit deals damage to foe during combat. |

When using an Ascendant Floret, we recommend getting the next superboon if it fits the hero. If not, consider what stat your hero needs most.
The best IVs for Winter Alfred are +Spd and -Res. Winter Alfred's niche is as a fast Savior tank capable of soaking physical damage and keeping up with all the fast metagame units. Thus, he needs to invest in his Spd in order to prevent follow-ups from the game's fastest metagame threats.
Alfred's Res is beyond salvageable and can be safely taken as a bane as it won't impact any of his matchups.

Note: Stats bonuses from skills are not taken into account.
Winter Alfred is a close physical attacker (range = 1). Therefore, when not accounting for the Weapon Triangle, the amount of damage he deals will be equivalent to his Atk minus the foe's Def stat.
Attention! |

|---|
Winter Alfred's base 18 Res is incredibly low at only base 18, leaving him vulnerable to enemies that deal high magic or adaptive damage.
While Alfred's base 50 HP helps improve his overall bulk, he will still fall to dedicated magic attackers.
Alfred's low Res also leaves him vulnerable to the various Res-check skills in the game such as Ploys. Consider bringing a cleansing support when using Winter Alfred as your team's tank.
Winter Alfred takes 1.5x damage from armor-effective weapons like Randgríðr, and one blow from this type of weapon will deal significant damage. Make sure you know what weapons you are up against before hopping too far into the line of battle!
