When using an Ascendant Floret, we recommend getting the next superboon if it fits the hero. If not, consider what stat your hero needs most.
The best IVs for Winter Gatekeeper are +Res and +Atk. Winter Gatekeeper excels in soaking damage for his team while preventing enemies from moving past or warping onto spaces near his allies. His Def and Res stats are both superb, with both being ideal boons to take in order to help Gatekeeper excel in his role further.
Winter Gatekeeper's Atk stat is incredibly low at only base 35. As a book 10 unit, this base Atk stat is unusable, with enemies having upwards of 40 Def and even higher for dedicated defensive units. Gatekeeper isn't a reliable damage dealer, thus his Atk is the best bane to take.
Spd is also a decent bane to take, but with Winter Gatekeeper's base 21 Spd, he can prevent follow-up attacks from slow tank units that opt into taking Spd as their banes.
