Neutral IVs by default!

As a hero obtainable only through Grand Hero Battle, Fallen Orson will always have neutral IVs by default. The only way to access IVs for this unit is through using Trait Fruits.

+Atk/-HP

The best IVs for Fallen Orson are +Atk and -HP. This is picked up to maximize the damage he deals from his high-damage, single-hit style. HP is of less importance so it is safe to take as his bane

+Atk for a +10 Merge

We recommend a +Atk IV when merging Orson to 10. This is for the same reasons as above and at this point, he will reach 61 Atk. You can also take advantage of the superboon in +Res if you want more protection from magic units

We do not recommend the Special Effect Refine for Bereft Lance

Refined Bereft Lance grants up to Atk/Spd/Def/Res+15 to Fallen Orson, neutralizes his foe's bonuses, and grants him true damage reduction equal to 20% of his Def, a guaranteed follow-up attack, and 7 HP post-combat healing.

Refined Bereft Lance also inflicts Atk/Def-7 and 【Exposure】 on the closest foes to Orson and foes near those foes, providing long-range support that covers the entire map.

While this refine is considerably stronger than base Bereft Lance, it doesn't make Orson a strong enough unit to consider using him over other metagame units.

Refined Bereft Lance grants defensive effects and mapwide support

Refined Bereft Lance grants up to Atk/Spd/Def/Res+15 to Fallen Orson, neutralizes his foe's bonuses, and grants him true damage reduction equal to 20% of his Def, a guaranteed follow-up attack, and 7 HP post-combat healing.

Refined Bereft Lance also inflicts Atk/Def-7 and 【Exposure】 on the closest foes to Orson and foes near those foes, providing long-range support that covers the entire map.

This refined weapon makes Fallen Orson a deceptively bulky unit while providing mapwide support through the Atk/Def-7 and 【Exposure】 effects.

Fallen Orson Weaknesses

Low Res Makes Him an Easy Target for Mages

Unfortunately for Fallen Orson, his low Res will make him an easy opponent for mages, as without any Distant Counter in his base kit, he will be unable to launch a counterattack.

Mages like Reinhardt or Thrasir should have no problems in dealing with him.

Weak to Cavalry Effective Weapons

Fallen Orson takes 1.5x damage from cavalry-effective weapons like Ridersbane, and one blow from this type of weapon is sure to take him/her down. Make sure you know what weapons you are up against before hopping too far into the line of battle!
