When using an Ascendant Floret, we recommend getting the next superboon if it fits the hero. If not, consider what stat your hero needs most.

+Atk/-Def

The best IVs for Julia are +Atk and -Def. A +Atk IV helps her maximize the 1.5x multiplier against dragons provided by Naga. If you put some investment into her with thi IV, she will deal huge single-hit damage to dragons and it might be enough to take some weaker dragons out!

+Atk for a +10 Merge

We recommend a +Atk IV when merging Julia to 10. This is for the same reasons as above. Julia is mainly an offensive check against dragon units, but since her Spd is very unreliable, it is best to maximize her Atk stat instead. If you prefer a bulkier Julia, go for a +Res IV instead.

How to Use, Explanation

Julia's main gimmick or niche is to lure in dragons to attack her. This is because she gets a huge advantage over them thanks to Naga's special refine effect. This build builds upon that and makes her even more of threat to dragons in the enemy phase! Thanks to Fury 4 and Rouse Atk/Res 3, she can also function as an effective offensive option in the player phase.

How to Use, Explanation

A budget build for Julia that provides sustain, tankiness, and bite in the enemy phase. Be wary that it might not be wise to initiate combat in the player phase with this build especially against specific units. This is usually the case for enemy phase units. Let them attack Julia, instead of the other way around!

We recommend the Special Effect Refine for Julia's Naga

We recommend Naga's special effect refine over the Divine Naga evolution. Julia is a check to dragon units, but many dragon units have adaptive damage that can exploit Julia's low Def stat. This upgrade completely neutralizes this weakness and grants her a Distant Counter effect too! The Distant Counter extends Julia's reign against dragons beyond the player phase.

You can see how this upgrade improves Julia's overall viability and utility. Get it as soon as possible if she is one of your main units.

Julia is a ranged magic attacker (range = 2). Therefore, when not accounting for the Weapon Triangle, the amount of damage she deals will be equivalent to her Atk minus the foe's Res stat.

Julia Strengths

Naga is strong against dragons

Julia's tome, Naga is strong against dragon units. It grants Julia a 1.5x damage multiplier against said units. With some investment, she can easily take out colorless, blue and green dragons in one hit. Her weapon upgrades and base stats synergize well with her role as a strong match-up against dragon units.

Access to a special effect refine

Naga has access to a special effect refine. On top of the +4 Def/Res boost in the enemy phase, she gains immunity to adaptive damage and gets a built-in Distant Counter effect. This makes her a nightmare to all magic units, not just dragonstone units, in the enemy phase. It is discussed in more detail in our weapon refine section.

High Atk and Res

Julia's base Atk and Res sit at 49 and 35 respectively. This makes her a great match-up to dragon units as she can both deal huge damage to them and take a beating from them. She can tank staff and tome enemies as well. Play Julia to her strengths as her physical defenses are quite bad

Julia Weaknesses

Low Def and Spd

Julia's base Def and Spd sit at 17 and 26 respectively. This makes physical follow-up attacks against Julia lethal. Pay close attention to her positioning against physical units that can easily take her out!

Be wary of dragon units that have adaptive damage. The best defense against said units is having your team or Julia take them out them first. This way, they would not have a chance exploiting Julia's low Def. This is a crippling weakness so get her special effect refine ASAP to neutralize this flaw!
