◯ = Stat gains +4 with a superboon, ✕= Stat goes down by -4 with a superbane, - = No assets or flaws
See the IV Checker for All Units | Trait Fruits—How to Change IVs |
When using an Ascendant Floret, we recommend getting the next superboon if it fits the hero. If not, consider what stat your hero needs most.
Sword Reinhardt's best IVs are hands down +Atk and -Spd. Sword Reinhardt's main strength lies in his ability to attack twice with Meisterschwert, so even a small change to his Atk stat greatly changes his overall ability. As long as he has +Atk, his bane is not really of much significance, but since his Spd stat is practically useless, it is the ideal bane.
We recommend a +Atk IV when merging Sword Reinhardt to 10. This is for the same reasons as above. At this point, Sword Reinhardt will deal massive damage to any unit he attacks especially if he is using a Mesterschwert with a Special Effect Refine.

Meisterschwert and Distant Counter will make Sword Reinhardt attack nonstop so he can definitely run the high-cooldown Aether. If you snag the Special Effect Refine for the weapon, this build turns Sword Reinhardt into a unit that has respectable presence in both phases of battle.

Pavise

A simple budget build for Sword Reinhardt. This low-investment build allows him to deal reliable amounts of damage without in both phases. You can replace Death Blow 3 with Fury 3 if you want more damage in the enemy phase as well. Fury also makes reaching Vantage range with ease. Pavise is kept to improve his durability while in the frontline.

SP: 400 | |
Might: 11 Range: 1 HP: +3 Inflicts Spd -5. Unit attacks twice. (Even if foe initiates combat, unit attacks twice. ) At start of combat, if foe's HP ≥ 50%, grants Atk+5 to unit and inflicts Atk-5 on foe during combat, and also, if unit initiates combat, foe cannot make a follow-up attack. :500 :200 |

The Special Effect Refine is a straight upgrade for Meisterschwert. It does not require much adjustment on how you run Sword Reinhardt. The upgrade both increases Reinhardt's damage and decreases the foe's ability to deal damage to him especially in the player phase. If this Reinhardt alt is one of your main units, we strongly suggest that you get this upgrade if you can afford it.

Note: Stats bonuses from skills are not taken into account.
Sword Reinhardt's weapon, Meisterschwert, allows him to strike twice per attack. It is very similar to Brave Sword+, but it has 3 additional Mt and it also works when attacked by enemies. This is a very powerful skill when combined with the effects of the native Death Blow 3 it allows Sword Reinhardt to be a very powerful hero in the player phase and also in the enemy phase if Vantage 3 is active.
Unlike his blue tome counterpart, Vantage 3 can actually be a good fit to Sword Reinhardt's kit as Meisterschwert works in the enemy phase. You can create set-ups with skills like Reciprocal Aid and bait enemies into eating two powerful strikes from the Sword Reinhardt.
His ability to be a good unit in the enemy phase is further justified by his special skill, Pavise, which reduces the damage taken from adjacent enemies when triggered.
Sword Reinhardt's Meisterschwert has access to a Special Effect Refine that adds so much value to Reinhardt's value as a cavalry frontline unit. It allows him to deal more damage and hinder the foe's ability to deal damage to him. This allows him to be more efficient in both offense and defense. Read more about it in the Weapon Refine Section!
Sword Reinhardt's Spd stat is practically useless. He will have to endure a follow-up from most attacking enemies, so he generally should not be used as an enemy-phase unit. The basic plan with Reinhardt is to attack, then make use of movement/refresher assists to get him out of the Danger Area.
Sword Reinhardt takes 1.5x damage from cavalry-effective weapons like Ridersbane, and one blow from this type of weapon is sure to take him/her down. Make sure you know what weapons you are up against before hopping too far into the line of battle!

At first glance, Death Blow 3 and Vantage 3 may be great skills to fodder off into other characters. However, they are skills available from more common 4★ units. Since Sword Reindhardt is exclusive to the 5★ pool, he is strong by default and it is best to train and invest in him instead.
Sword Reinhardt is a Hero who can be pulled from any summon.

Long ago, I fought Prince Leif and his army at the River Thracia. We had the advantage. My forces outnumbered his, and my position was more favorable. And yet I was defeated. But how? To what do I ascribe my failure? Thinking about it now, I believe the question is one of spirit. Whatever the odds against them, Prince Leif’s forces possessed a will strong enough to grasp victory. Their determination shone, and it was something I lacked. That, I suppose, is my weakness. However, fighting by your side has helped me conquer this failing in myself. My will is strong. As long as it lasts, I will bring you victory. |
