When using an Ascendant Floret, we recommend getting the next superboon if it fits the hero. If not, consider what stat your hero needs most.

+Spd/-Def

The best IVs for Hatari Xane are +Spd and -Def. A higher Spd stat allows Xane to make follow-up attacks and prevent himself from being doubled.

This boosts both his offensive and survivability capabilities. His low Def is of less importance, so it is safe to take it as a bane.

You can also opt for a +Res IV, which will make him more of a magic tank than an offensive unit.

+Spd for a +10 Merge

We recommend a +Spd IV when merging Xane to 10. With this IV at 10 merges, he reaches a Spd of 41. This is enough to prevent doubles from a lot of other units, but needs to be paired with other skills in his kit to help him out.

Hatari Xane is a ranged magic attacker (range = 2). Therefore, when not accounting for the Weapon Triangle, the amount of damage he deals will be equivalent to his Atk minus the foe's Res stat. However, as he uses a staff, his damage would normally be halved without a Wrathful Staff effect.

Hatari Xane Strengths

Serpentine Staff+ Makes for a Good Inheritable Weapon.

While it seems simple, Xane's Serpentine Staff+ has very powerful effects.

Not only does it have the effects of Fatal Smoke 3, but it also has the effects of Savage Blow 3!

This makes Hatari Xane a good offensive unit that's able to chip at the HP of enemy units and prevent their own healing skills or their allies from healing them.

Hatari Xane Weaknesses

Vulnerable to Melee Units

Since Hatari Xane does not have any Close Counter in his kit, he needs to take care to avoid being attacked by melee units as he cannot retaliate.

Make sure to use a dancer to have him retreat to safety after attacking!

Mediocre Stats

While Xane does have a good wepaon, he has a mediocre overall stat spread except for Res, which is pretty high. However, his low Spd means he is easily doubled by other units.
