This is a guide to getting the Tough Beetle in The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword (HD) for the Nintendo Switch. Read on to learn where to find Tough Beetle, as well as how to use it.

This fully upgraded Beetle flies longer than the conventional version. |
Along with the benefits of Hook Beetle and Quick Beetle, Tough Beetle can reach farther distances. It is also the most durable and can withstand hitting walls and objects more.
Tough Beetle can be obtained after upgrading it with the necessary materials.

Hold down the ZR Button on the Right Joy-Con to bring up the Items menu. Point the controller at the Beetle and let go of the ZR Button to equip it.
Once you have equipped the Beetle, press the ZR Button to use it. For both button only controls and motion controls, move your right joycon to aim.
Use the L Stick to pilot and move around on your Beetle!

Carry objects by maneuvering your Tough Beetle or its upgrades to bombs and other carryable objects. The beetle will automatically hook to it.
For button controls, hold ZL button to Aim, then press ZR button to shoot.
For motion controls, move Joy-Con to aim, then press ZR button to shoot.
Hold either your ZR or A button while the Beetle is flying to speed up your Tough Beetle or its upgrades. Let go of the button to stop.
