Skyward Sword HD Mushroom Spores

This is a guide to getting the Mushroom Spores in The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword (HD) for the Nintendo Switch. Read on to learn where to find Mushroom Spores, as well as how to use it.

Spores from a jumbo-sized mushroom.

Healing Orielle's Loftwing

Orielle
In the Missing Sister side quest, Mushroom Spores is used as bird medicine for Orielle's Loftwing to complete the quest.

Note that you do not need to get Mushroom Spores beforehand, as Parrow will give one to you (and an extra Empty Bottle).

This has no other use unlike its special variant, Glittering Spores.

Item Unlock Condition
Mushroom Spores IconMushroom Spores Slash any mushroom and use an Empty Bottle to scoop up the spores.
Effects: Used to heal Orielle's Loftwing.

Slash big mushrooms

Mushroom Spores - Get
In Faron Woods and Skyview Temple, slash on any big mushrooms and scoop it with an Empty Bottle to acquire Mushroom Spores.

Note that glittering mushrooms will give you special spores called Glittering Spores.

How to Use Mushroom Spores

How to Equip from Inventory

Press and Hold the R Button

Equip Mushroom Spores
Hold down the ZR Button on the Right Joy-Con to bring up the Items menu. Point the controller at the Mushroom Spores bottle and let go of the ZR Button to equip it.

Press A to Use Mushroom Spores

Use Mushroom Spores with A
Once you have equipped Mushroom Spores, press A Button to use it.
