You can start Off the Record (Archaeological) by completing all the requirements listed above and then interacting with the Mission Control board in the Administrative District.
Do note that while you've completed all the unlock requirements for this Basic Mission, it is possible that it may not show up on the Mission Control board since the missions are random. You can reroll missions by hopping in and out of the Mission Control board.
Previously Unlocks After Chapter 3
In the original version of the game, this quest became available after completing Chapter 3: Builders of a Legacy.
However, in the Definitive Edition, where Field Skill Level requirements have been removed, Off the Record (Archaeological) now unlocks after completing Chapter 6: Dark Matters instead.

| 1 |  To start the Off the Record (Archaeological) basic mission, you must first clear Chapter 6. Accept the request at the BLADE Concourse terminal to officially start it. ▶ Chapter 6: Dark Matters |
| 2 |  This mission gives you riddles to solve and you’re going to be on your own. There are no quest markers or navigation aids. Let’s break down each riddle and its solution. The first riddle says: If you seek a pure white shell, to the east does it now dwell. Head to Oblivia and collect 10 White Forfex Shells . They are dropped by Land Forfexes and Sand Forfexes. ▶ How to Fast Travel |

| 3 | The second riddle reads: A snake of stone amid lucent boles. Slip its gaze, enter its belly whole. This means you need to discover Orochi's Belly in Noctilum. Fast travel to FN Site 220 and head north. The location is found under the bridge, go to the end of the landbridge, then jump off the edge of the cliff to the east to reach it. ▶ Orochi's Belly Location |

Fast travel to Biahno Grassland and head towards the waterfall location marked on the map. Jump down and head inside the cave at the base of the waterfall. ▶ Turtle Nest Location |
| 5 | The final riddle says: In fields of green in New LA, ask in the morning to find the way. This one’s telling you to find Solan next to the yellow construction Skell west of Deliverance Park. Solan will only show up at the location during early morning so make sure you change the time to that. ▶ Solan Location |

White Forfex Shells can be obtained from Land Forfexes and Sand Forfexes located in Oblivia!
Orochi's Belly Location
Near FN Site 220 in Noctilum
Orochi's Belly is located near FN Site 220 in Noctilum. Go under the bridge near the Fast Travel point and then head to the marked location above. Orochi's Belly should also be the location of the Tyrant called Drake, the Waypost.

Turtle Nest Location
Fast travel to the Biahno Grassland
The Turtle Nest needed to solve the third riddle is located near Biahno Grassland. Go to the waterfall locationshown above and then jump down until you see a cave. Enter the cave to solve the third riddle!
Solan Location (Archaeological)
Located West of Deliverance Park
Solan is located west of Deliverance Park as shown in the image above. Make sure to set your take to early morning for Solan to appear on the overworld!
