The table above contains all the requirements needed to unlock the mission, A Proper Chopper.
| # | Walkthrough |
|---|---|
| 1 | ![]() To start the A Proper Chopper mission, you must first complete Chapter 4. Speak to Roscoe, located in the Industrial District of New LA, just south of the Central Industrial District landmark on the map. ▶Chapter 4 Walkthrough: The Ganglion Menace |
| 2 | ![]() Fast travel to FN Site 217 in Noctilum, then head north to reach Sunlit Spring, where the helicopter went missing. If you can't get here by foot, you can go to here with a Skell although you will also need a Skell License for that, which unlocks after completing Chapter 6. Follow the quest marker and investigate the area, you'll find the chopper surrounded by five Level 13 Jovial Saltats. ▶How to Fast Travel |
| 3 | ![]() After defeating the enemies, find Howard near the crash site. Talk to him and he'll ask you to find two Anhydrous Radiators in Primordia, and one Spherical EM Motor in Noctilum. |
| 4 | First, grab the radiators. Head to FN Site 103 in northwestern Primordia. This site has the best chance of finding them in wreckage piles. Keep checking until you collect both Anhydrous Radiators. ▶Primordia Region Map Guide |
| 5 | ![]() Now go fetch the Spherical EM Motor. Fast travel to FN Site 211 in Noctilum. The item will be marked on your map for easy pickup, use the Follow Ball for a straight path without detours. ▶Noctilum Region Map Guide |
| 6 | ![]() After collecting all the materials, return to Sunlit Spring and talk to Ciska. Hand over the parts. |
| 7 | ![]() Examine the helicopter and repair it. When prompted, choose the Blue Wire. This is the Good Ending where the mission succeeds and everyone survives. |
| 8 | ![]() Alternatively, you can still choose the Red Wire, but with a twist: Howard dies, and you don’t get any item rewards. However, you’ll receive double the credit rewards. So pick whichever suits you. |
| 9 | Once the chopper is fixed, talk to Ciska to confirm the repairs and then finally, fast travel back to Roscoe in the Industrial District to complete the mission. |
We recommend cutting the blue wire since Howard will not die and you will also obtain item rewards. Cutting the red wire leads to Howard dying but you will earn double the Credits!
