Friend Points can be earned by participating in Team Trials. You can earn more by being in a higher class.
The highest possible Friend Points that you can earn through Team Trials is 5,000 Friend Points. This is achievable if you maintain the highest rank in Class 6.
Setting a Support Card in your profile will allow other trainers to use it during trainings. It's best to set a fully capped SSR Support Card since it is more likely that this will be used by others.
Having your Support Card borrowed more often will increase the amount of Friends Points that you can earn.

Story Events give off various rewards once reaching a certain amount of Event Points, including Friend Points. Take note that Story Events are time-limited. However, by accumulating more Event Points, you can quickly earn a large amount of Friend Points.
You can earn Event Points by participating in Career Scenario Modes during an active event.

Winning a race during a Career Scenario Mode every day will reward you with 100 Friend Points. It's not much compared to other methods, but it's worth collecting them on a daily basis.

Some items in the Friend Point Exchange refresh per month, depending on the current running Event. Most of the time, the time-limited items are Star Pieces or Support Points, which are required items for leveling up your Trainees.
It is recommended to save up for these limited items first, especially if there will be an upcoming event.

SSR Haru Urara (Urara's Day Off!) has a high training performance among some of the Guts SSR Support Cards. Her high Friendship Bonus makes her more effective to use, thus making her a good Support Card for beginners.
This is only obtainable through the Friendship Point Exchange. While SSR Haru Urara will be in the Shop permanently, having her in your Support Card deck is worth considering, especially if you're just new to the game or you want to have a Guts-focused build.
All 5 SSR Haru Urara Support Cards are necessary to maximize her Uncap Grade. A maxed-out Support Card is recommended for its highest effectiveness, not just in your training, but for other players as well.

Follow Slot Boost can increase your following capacity to 1. More friends in your following list mean more chances of having someone use your Career Support Card. In turn, this can increase the amount of Friend Points that you can obtain. It's best to purchase them one at a time, especially if your following list is full.

Earning Friend Points will require consistency and effort. These can only be accumulated gradually each time you log-in the game and participate in races daily.

A good way to earn Friend Points, especially for beginners, is by participating in Team Trials. Getting a higher rank and class in Team Trials can also increase the amount of Friend Points that you can obtain.

Team Trials require RP usage, so it's best to maximize your RP use. Take note that your team can get demoted to the lower class once your team underperforms in the races. This includes skipping a few days to participate in Team Trials.
Lower classes mean fewer rewards, including Friend Points, so it is recommended to participate in Team Trials every day. You can log in twice in the game since it only takes 10 hours to fully refill your RP.

If you find yourself running low on RP, you can use a Carrot Jelly Mini to replenish this. This can be a forceful method and is not generally recommended since it is only possible to obtain them through rewards. However, using Carrot Jelly Minis can be still be cost-productive, especially if you've been earning more Friend Points in higher classes and rankings.
