Modern Warfare 2 - What is the Level Cap?

During the open beta for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, the max level cap players could progress to was level 30. Read on to learn about the max level for the game, what you can do once you reach the max level, and how to reach the max level fast.

What is the Max Level Cap?

Beta Max Level is 30

All Open Beta Rewards

During the recently concluded Open Beta for MW2, the max level players could level up to was 30. The first week of the beta allowed players to level up to level 15 and the second week allowed them to reach the current max level of 30.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare (2019) allowed players to progress to level 55 similar to the original Modern Warfare. Should MW2 follow its predecessors, we could see a higher max level for multiplayer.

Prestige Could Return

MW2 - Prestige

Prestige is a traditional system in older Call of Duty games where players that have already reached the max level can choose to reset their rank and start progressing through the levels again. Players would be given a medal to display on their profile indicating they are doing a Prestige run and could usually get up to Prestige 10.

2019's Modern Warfare did not have the Prestige system instead allowed players to level up their Officer Rank. A blog post published by the Call of Duty Staff mentioned Race to Prestige and level up your favorite weapons for MW2 and while this doesn't explicitly say that the Prestige system is back, it's definitely something to keep an eye on.

How to Reach Max Level Fast

You can reach the max level quickly by activating Double XP Tokens and completing Daily Challenges. Double XP Tokens are particularly effective in Objective-based Game Modes.
