Mounting is a feature that can help players with their gunplay in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. Read on to learn how to mount your gun as well as the benefits mounting your gun gives you.

Modern Warfare 2 - Mount Indicator
Find a flat surface such as a table or window sill and look for the Mount indicator. These are 2 small lines which indicate you can mount a weapon on that surface.

Tap the corresponding button to mount a weapon on that surface.

Move or tap your ADS button to unmount.

Mount With Caution

While mounting has several benefits, the main disadvantage is your lack of mobility. Always make sure the area where you plant to mount a weapon is safe from enemies as you as vulnerable to flanks.

Better Recoil Control

While the recoil of a gun depends on its base stat and any attachments it has, certain automatic firearms such as the M4 or VEL 46 tend to have higher recoil than others. Mounting these guns is a great way to control its recoil for more precise shooting.

More Accurate Aim

Since mounting a weapon immediately enables ADS, the increased accuracy and the stability from the mounted surface combines for more accurate aim when shooting at enemies.

Slow Peeking Corners

Mounting your weapon gives you the option of peeking corners safely since you can quickly spot danger and get out of harms way. This method can be used as an alternative to just peeking a corner since you can easily shoot any enemies you see.
