1. Specialized Equipment

Basic Exsanguination Kit in Research Menu

Once you've received this quest from Zantara, unlock the Basic Exsanguination Kit from the Research Tab, then craft the Improvised Blood Extractor and a Small Blood Sack. This requires a total of 25 Salvaged Metal, and 25 Plant Fiber.

2. Blood on the Sand

Extracting Blood From a Corpse

With these tools in your inventory, go out to a Scavenger Camp and defeat some hostiles. Then, use the Improvised Blood Extractor on a corpse to drain its blood. Note that the Small Blood Sack can hold 3 extractions total.

3. Purification

Blood Purifier Interface

Return to your base and unlock the Blood Purifier from the Research Tab. Build it using the Construction Tool, then interact with it to place the blood inside. The Blood Purifier will automatically generate water from the blood.
