Has a Story but Doesn't Take Precedence Over the Game's Life Simulation

The developers mentioned in the Discord AMA that there is little of predefined storyline in inZOI and does not take precedence over the player's freedom to create their own stories.

As seen in the Online Showcase livestream, players take on a role as a new recruit at AR Company. From there, they assume the role of a Creator tasked with shaping the lives of Zois and managing the virtual worlds they live in known as inZOI.

As a result, the storyline in inZOI serves more of a backstory on how you can create your own Zois and houses in the world.

Player Character Works at AR Company

inZOI's opening cutscene follows a woman named Bora, a new intern at AR Company. She rushes to the office in order to report to work by 3:00 pm.

In the office building, she meets one of the company cats, Psycat, who activates the elevator for her and brings her to the floor where the office is. Psycat leads Bora to her desk, where her work at the company begins.

Psycat is Your Supervisor

Psycat, the ragdoll cat, serves as your supervisor in AR Company. She also assists you in many of game's features such as the AR Talk.

Henri Walks You Through the Onboarding Process

In one of the videos in inZOI's official channel, the AR Company's Human Resource Manager, Henri, introduces the company and gives the viewer a tour of the office. He explains that the employees of the company observe the lives of Zois and help them live their best lives. He also introduces the company cats Cupid and Psycat.

Character	Description
Bora	The character whose perspective the players follow. She is a new intern that recently got accepted to AR company. Her name was revealed and shown at the end of the AR Company introduction video.
Henri	Henri is the HR Team Assistant in AR Company. He guides the player on how to manage the Zois living in the cities and how to balance their karma scores.
Psycat	Psycat is a ragdoll cat that serves as the player character's supervisor at AR Company. One of the company cats who is shown to be able to activate the elevator with her paw. She is described to be a supervisor at the company. She is shown leading and watching over Bora.
Cupid	Another one of the company cats that Henri introduces. He is described to be one of the kindest colleagues in the company. He has a huge crush on Psycat.
Nemace	Nemace is one of the employees at AR Company shown in the AR Talk screen playtest videos before the game's Early Access release. She no longer appears in the Early Access version as the AR Talk screen was replaced by Psycat's Guide..
Zeno	Zeno is the CEO of AR Company seen in the AR Talk screen in playtest videos before the game's Early Access release. Much like Nemace, he no longer appears in the name although Psycat mentions a CEO if the city's karma status reaches caution.
