Death Types in Early Access
- Car Accident

- Falling

Car Accident
Zois can die when another Zoi collides with them in their car. This death is also possible when hitting Street Zois but a death notification will not show after.
Note that this can only happen if a playable Zoi hits another playable Zoi, but will not work when hitting Child Zois. Controlling a Zoi and directly jumping into oncoming traffic will instead lightly shove them to the side.
Old Age
A Zoi can pass away due to old age, specifically once they reach the Senior age group. This death will be of natural causes, and the age at which they die varies from Zoi to Zoi.
Fire
A fire may occur within a Zoi's house that leads to the death of Zois who remained inside. Fires may either happen due to a kitchen accident or broken appliances left unattended.
Note that when a fire occurs, Build Mode is inaccessible until the fire is put out.
Falling
Slippery surfaces may cause a Zoi to slip and fall, leading to their death. This may often happen in areas with wet surfaces left unattended, such as bathrooms and kitchens with broken faucets.
Malnutrition (Starvation)
Neglecting to satiate a Zoi's hunger can lead to death by starvation. Grab a bite from refrigerators or food stands to quickly sate the Zoi's Need.
Sleep Deprivation
When a Zoi continuously neglects sleep, a popup will appear warning that the Zoi may die due to sleep deprivation. The notice will inform the player that the Zoi is extremely tired and will mention the time left they can remain awake before passing away.
Running Away (Lack of Recognition)
While it doesn't directly kill a Zoi, they can run away if their Recognition Need is at a critical for a prolonged period of time. The Zoi will run away from home to never return, vacating a spot in the family.
Electrocution
Attempting to hack into an ATM has a chance for a Zoi to be electrocuted. The chance for this occurring is random, hence, it is advised to save the game before performing a hack.
Death Types in Early Playtests
Anger
Zois can die due to excessive anger from the early playtest builds, occuring when they're in a prolonged state of the Displeased or Enraged moods. This may return for a future update, but current tests indicate that this death type is not present in the Early Access version.
Food Poisoning
Zois may die of food poisoning when a city's sanitation is set to low in the early playtests. In the Early Access, spoiled food can no longer be eaten but instead locks the player to the option of either smelling it or throwing it away.
How to Rewind After Death
Go Back In Time
Select "Go Back In Time" after a Zoi dies to rewind after death. This will allow players to load a previous save and restore their Zoi before the death occurs.
Can Children Die?
They Will Be Sent to the Child Protection Agency
Zois at the Child age group will not experience death but will be sent to the Child Protection Agency instead. This occurs when a Child Zoi has multiple Needs at critical levels.
