Pets will not be available during the early access, but is in high priority for future updates. Due to the complexity of having a pet system, it is currently unknown when this feature will be implemented.

From the official discord's AMA session, it is highly likely that having pets will be implemented in a future update.

The developers have mentioned that they aim to provide the full experience of having a pet, and not just having a pet next to your character. As the project will be a huge undertaking for the team, the devs are unsure of the timeframe for its addition.

inZOI - Animals Can Be Placed in Cities

While pets are unavailable, animals can be placed in cities. Players can add a maximum of 3 types of animals and adjust their density when customizing a city.

Animals Cannot Be Interacted With

Animals Can

Although animals can appear in public properties such as parks and temples, they cannot be interacted with by Zois. Attempting to click on them will only show movement options of your player Zoi.

Cats Can Be Interacted With At Certain Conditions

Bond with Animals

The cats in cities can be interacted with if your Zoi has 60 points in Coexistence Value. If they are sad or depressed, they can receive comfort through empathy with them.
