There are a variety of ways to manage a Zoi's many Needs in inZOI. Learn more about how Zoi Needs work, what influences them, and how to meet your Zois' Needs here.
Needs represent the things a Zoi requires for survival. Unlike Emotions, which can guide a Zoi's behavior, Needs must be met for a Zoi to continue living.
Not meeting a Zoi's Needs can risk a Zoi's life, causing them to die if the neglect lasts long enough.
All Death Types and How to Cause Them
In case one needs a quick fix, one can use Meow Store Donuts to fill a missing need.
The Meow Store contains multiple donuts designed to immediately fill a Need and prevent it from declining temporarily. This allows Zois superhuman levels of endurance for a short time.
Needs can be checked by looking at the Needs Panel attached to the Autonomy panel, and placed above the Emotion Gauge in the UI.
All Need gauges will decline slowly over time, with the gauge color changing to represent the severity of the Need.
A white Need gauge is safe, while a yellow Need gauge represents a significant increase. Red Need gauges indicate a severe lack.
A Zoi's Traits can also affect the rate at which certain needs decline.
For example, Adventurer Zois have high Energy, and their Energy gauge declines more slowly. Meanwhile Dreamer Zois need sleep frequently, due to a fast-declining Sleep gauge.
Besides risk of death, not meeting a Zoi's needs can trigger negative Emotions.
Allowing even one physical need like Hunger or Sleep to decline sufficiently will automatically make a Zoi Uncomfortable, affecting their skill growth and causing them to feel bad.
How to Decrease Uncomfortable Emotion

![]() Energy |
The energy a Zoi requires to perform interactions and accomplish tasks. ・Perform liked actions according to preferences. ・Take on novel or interesting tasks. |
The Needs of a Zoi are divided into eight categories, with four each representing physical and mental Needs.
The physical Needs - Hunger, Sleep, Hygiene, and Bathroom - represent a Zoi's material requirements for survival, like food, rest, and a clean environment.
These Needs are typically fulfilled by regular tasks like eating and using the bathroom.
The four mental Needs - Fun, Social, Recognition, and Energy - are related to a Zoi's emotional stability, and their need to socialize, enjoy themselves, be recognized, and have energy to take on tasks.
These Needs can be fulfilled through various activities, including watching Entertaining programs, having positive conversations with Zois, and fulfilling goals.
Each of the Emotions that Zois can feel can have an effect on how efficiently different Needs can be met. For example, when a Zoi is Annoyed, their Fun gauge will decrease far more quickly than normal.
Emotions Guide - How Moods Work
Refer to the Emotion gauge at the bottom of the UI, under the Needs panel, to see what factors are contributing to a Zoi's current Emotion.
Each Emotion is represented by one of the dots on the gauge, and when the dots are colored, that Emotion is being felt by the Zoi.
