When using an Ascendant Floret, we recommend getting the next superboon if it fits the hero. If not, consider what stat your hero needs most.
+Spd / -Def
The best IVs for Halloween Peony are +Spd and -Def. Her base 48 Spd is raised to 52 with a superboon and allows her to prevent follow-up attacks from the fastest metagame units, improving her survivability..
Her base 23 Def is lackluster and lowering it further will not impact any of her matchups. It is a safe bane to take.
+Spd for a +10 merge
We recommend a +Spd IV when merging Halloween Peony up to +10 to ensure she isn't outsped by fast metagame units.

How to Use, Explanation
Halloween Peony doesn't need too much investment to be useful on the battlefield. Just equip a Spd-based A skill and a mobility-based Sacred Seal and she's good to go.

Halloween Peony Roles
Halloween Peony is a ranged magic attacker (range = 2). Therefore, when not accounting for the Weapon Triangle, the amount of damage she deals will be equivalent to her Atk minus the foe's Res stat.
Halloween Peony Strengths
Spooky Lantern grants Canto and other bonuses to allies
Halloween Peony's exclusive weapon Spooky Lantern has built-in 【Canto (Rem.; Min 1)】 and grants 【Canto (1)】 to nearby allies at the start of each turn.
Spooky Lantern also grants Atk/Spd+5, penalty neutralization, +10 bonus true damage per attack, and 7 HP post-combat healing to all allies within 3 rows or 3 columns centered on Peony, providing additional support that covers a long distance.
In combat, Spooky Lantern grants Peony up to Atk/Spd/Def/Res+14, +10 bonus true damage and true damage reduction, and a Null Follow-Up effect.
The support effects are more important for Peony, as she will rarely be attacking due to her status as a refresher unit. Most of this weapon's power budget is placed onto its support effects, making it a useful weapon overall.
Pleasant Night refreshes Canto and grants Reflex and Empathy
Halloween Peony's exclusive refresher assist Pleasant Night grants another action and re-enables Canto to a target ally, and then grants Atk/Spd/Def/Res+5, 【Reflex】, and 【Empathy】 to target ally and allies in cardinal directions of Peony and target ally.
Granting 【Reflex】 on-demand is very powerful as it dodges various bonus stealing or neutralizing effects from heroes like Mythic Loki or Tina. Reflex is one of the most powerful bonus effects in the game, and having access to this anytime you want can easily be built around and exploited.

As a flying unit, Halloween Peony takes 1.5x damage from bows and weapons effective on flying units. Be sure to keep them out of the range of archers and leave them to other units.
