When using an Ascendant Floret, we recommend getting the next superboon if it fits the hero. If not, consider what stat your hero needs most.
As a hero obtainable only through Grand Hero Battle, Metodey will always have neutral IVs by default. The only way to access IVs for this unit is through using Trait Fruits.
The best IVs for Metodey are +Spd and -Res. Metodey's base 47 Spd, raised to 51 with a superboon, is among the highest in the game. He can utilize his Spd to create follow-up attacks and prevent his foe's follow-up attacks.
Metodey's Res is below average and can be taken as a bane as it is his least important stat.
We recommend a +Spd IV when merging Metodey up to +10 to ensure he keeps up with all the fast metagame foes.

Metodey is a ranged physical attacker (range = 2). Therefore, when not accounting for the Weapon Triangle, the amount of damage he deals will be equivalent to his Atk minus the foe's Def stat.
Metodey is a Grand Hero Battle unit with base 47 Spd (51 with a superboon). This makes him an easily mergeable unit that can keep up with all the fast metagame foes, even with his lack of an exclusive weapon.
However, he will need significant investment to simply be on par with the fast metagame foes, as his lack of any exclusive skills hold him back considerably.
Metodey's inheritable Gainful Dagger+ grants him grants 【Null Follow-Up】 and 【Null Panic】 at the start of each turn.
In combat, Gainful Dagger+ grants Metodey Atk/Spd bonuses based on the number of non-stat【Bonus】 effects active on Metodey and non-stat 【Penalty】 effects active on his foe.
This is a good inheritable weapon which can shine with proper setup.
Metodey is quite good for being a free unit. However, being a speedy Colorless Dagger Infantry unit, he shares the exact same archetype as Perne, another free unit.
Perne is superior to Metodey due to his access to Blade Royale, an exclusive weapon. WIth Blade Royale, Perne even ties Metodey's Spd after boons and investment despite the former's age, which is crucial for high Spd units in order to generate and prevent follow-up attacks.
Unless you like Metodey as a character or you are relying on an Arcane Tempest build, we recommend using your Heroic Grails to invest on Perne instead.
