The best IVs for Thief Leila are +Spd and -Def. Her Spd is a superboon and boosts her already very high Spd stat even further to guarantee she outspeeds her foes.

Her Def is a dump stat and is a safe bane to take without altering any of her matchups.

+Spd for a +10 Merge

We recommend +Spd when merging Thief Leila to +10 for similar reasons above.

How to Use, Explanation

Canto (Ally 2) and Canto (Rem.) trigger at the same time, giving Thief Leila options on where to position herself post-combat. If no allies are nearby, Canto (Rem.) from Far Trace is still available.

Thief Leila is a ranged magic attacker (range = 2). Therefore, when not accounting for the Weapon Triangle, the amount of damage she deals will be equivalent to her Atk minus the foe's Res stat.

Thief Leila Strengths

Soothing Scent grants Atk/Spd bonuses, applies a sweep effect, deals splash damage, and has a unique Canto effect

Thief Leila's Soothing Scent grants an accelerated Special trigger and Atk/Spd+6 during combat. It also denies the foe's counterattacks if Leila outspeeds her foe, and deals 10 post-combat damage to her foe and all other foes within 2 spaces of her foe.

It also has 【Canto (Ally 2)】, which is a unique effect to Thief Leila as of August 2022. 【Canto (Ally 2)】 allows Leila to warp to any space adjacent to an ally within 2 spaces after her first attack, assist, or structure destruction.

This Canto effect is clunky and completely reliant on ally's positioning. Thief Leila wants to attack first in order to apply the splash damage of Soothing Scent and activate the Pathfinder effect of Def/Res Smoke 3, positioning her allies on the previous turn is key in maximizing this weapon.
