Sorry I know the last comment before this was over a year ago! But I thought I'd post anyway in case anyone was a newbie like me and confused. Enjoy the game!

Just in case anyone is wondering! I worked it out :) so what you have to do is hold down on Takumi in the second step, and drag him left 1, up 1 without releasing. This will move him. Then, continue to drag him towards the green axe and release once you see the 'attack' bubble. Tada! Then you can continue as per the instructions above and clear the training. Hope that helps!
