The table above contains all the requirements needed to unlock the mission, Mystery Man.
| # | Walkthrough |
|---|---|
| 1 | ![]() To unlock the Mystery Man normal mission, you must first complete Chapter 5. Fast travel to the Professor B's Lab landmark in the Industrial District of New LA. Speak with Professor B to initiate the mission. ▶ Chapter 5: Ma-non Maneuvers |
| 2 | ![]() Your first objective is to collect Tykki Sap at the Waterway Tangle in Noctilum. You can either fast travel to the Old Dragontail Tree landmark and head northeast or start from FN Site 221 and go south. Regardless of your starting point, the Waterway Tangle will be marked on the map. Once you arrive at either landmark, activate the Follow Ball and track the path it leads you on to reach the quest marker. ▶ Noctilum Region Map Guide |
| 3 | ![]() Upon reaching the area, a cutscene will trigger, and you’ll be forced into a battle against Gadd and his allies. Once the fight is over, interact with the floating orange crystal nearby to obtain the Tykki Sap. |
| 4 | ![]() Return to Professor B’s Lab in the Industrial District and hand over the Tykki Sap. After receiving the material, Professor B will task you with finding a car for him. |
| 5 | ![]() Head to Central Melville Street in the Commercial District and look for Graham. The nearest fast travel point is North Founders Street, so teleport there and head northwest following the quest marker. When you speak with Graham, he will offer three car choices: Average, Junker, or Luxury. |
| * | No matter which option you choose, the story outcome remains the same. The only differences are in dialogue changes and the car’s appearance in cutscenes. There are no additional rewards for picking a specific car. However, the best option is the Junker Car because Professor B only gives you 10,000 Credits, and the Junker Car costs just 1,000 Credits, letting you keep the remaining 9,000. |
| 6 | ![]() Return to Professor B’s Lab to find him in conversation with Veven. After their discussion, talk to Professor B again. He will now request a Topaz Wine for the car. |
| 7 | The Topaz Wine can be obtained by defeating Clay Lectinsulas in Oblivia. These enemies are scattered throughout the region, but their locations will be automatically marked on your map, so there’s no need for manual searching. Once you have the wine, return to Professor B and hand it over. The mission will conclude after the final cutscene. |

Although the cars differ visually, your choice does not impact the storyline beyond minor dialogue changes and different car appearances in the cutscenes.
You're given 10,000 Credits by Professor B to purchase a car. The best option is the Junker Car, which only costs 1,000 Credits, allowing you to keep the remaining 9,000 Credits.
The Average Car costs 10,000, leaving you with no extra money, while the Luxury Car is an overpriced 100,000 Credits, making it an unnecessary waste.
