Air Groove's Unique Skill activates when she is 3rd place or lower, and has overtaken another runner during the final corner of the race. Although the placement condition is easy to meet (especially if running Air Groove as a Late Surger), failure to overtake anyone during the final corner will make the Unique Skill fail to activate.

When training Air Groove, use the brand new Unity Cup scenario to take advantage of the new Spirit Burst mechanic. This not only lets you gain more stats than normal, but can also provide useful Skill Hints.
Air Groove has an A rank on her Late Surger aptitude, so it is best to use this running style for her during her career and other events. This running style also synergizes well with her Unique Skill, which requires her to pass another runner toward the back.
If you plan to run Air Groove as a debuffer, then running her as a Pace Chaser is ideal. This is because her debuff skill Disorient (and its upgrade Dazzling Disorientation) only activates in this running style.
Unless you plan to build Air Groove as a dedicated debuffer, there is no need to increase her Potential. Save your Monies and resources for other characters, as you can train an effective Air Groove without any of her Potential skills.
Air Groove is best suited as a part of your Medium team in Team Trials. As such, try to get sparks to improve her Medium aptitude so that she can perform better during Team Trials.
While getting Mile sparks to improve her performance in her first two races is an option, it is not required as these can be won with raw stats.
Legacy and Sparks Guide: Inheritance Explained
Air Groove can also be turned into a Sprint runner by getting enough sparks to push her Sprint aptitude from C to A (requires at least 4 Sprint sparks). This is especially helpful if you don't have other Sprint runners like Hishi Akebono, Curren Chan or Taiki Shuttle, and need a third Sprinter alongside the F2P options King Halo and Sakura Bakushin O.
| 1200 | 800 | 800 | 400 | 400 |
As a Medium racer running as a Late Surger, Air Groove's Speed and Stamina are a priority. Afterward, increase her Power to help her in overtaking in the later part of the race. Finally, increase her Wit to help with Skill activation. Getting at least one Gold Recovery skill is a must to help her perform well in her races. If you instead want to use Air Groove as a Sprint racer, you can go for at least 500 Stamina instead, as Sprint races don't need as much Stamina.
If you are only planning to clear a career run with Air Groove, then you can aim for lower stat numbers, as the stats above are for Team Trials.
Training Guide: Which Stats to Train?
We recommend a 3 Speed, 2 Power, 1 Pal deck for Air Groove, as this will give her the Speed and Power she needs, with the build's Stamina coming from Power training, Sparks, and Riko Kashimoto. Alternatively, you can also run a 2 Speed, 3 Power, 1 Pal deck to maximize on training time.
These decks will work whether you decide to train Air Groove for Sprints or Medium races.
This deck is for players who are starting out and are still trying to get a feel of the game's mechanics and intricacies. This deck can help you get the needed stats to clear the career, while also providing important skills.
Take advantage of the game's borrowing feature to borrow a powerful MLB SSR, like Kitasan Black. Additionally, if you do not have an MLB copy of Riko Kashimoto (Tracen Academy), it would be better to use another SR Stamina card instead.
| Recommended Alternative Support Cards | |
|---|---|
| Speed | |
| Power | |
| Wit |
These cards will help Air Groove level her needed Stats (especially with Rainbow/Friendship Training), as well as provide some needed skills.
These stats are enough to clear the URA Finale easily, as they provide enough Speed, Stamina, and Power for all of Air Groove's career races, especially when partnered with the correct skills. As for the deck, you can either run a 4 Speed, 2 Stamina deck, or a 3 Speed, 3 Power deck. You can replace either a Speed card in the first deck or a Power card in the second deck with Tazuna Hayakawa if you would like to use a Pal card.

| 3★ Late Surger 3★ Medium 4★ Sprint (if training for Sprint) |
For Legacy Sparks, we recommend trying to find Stamina and Power sparks, as she will need them for her Medium races. Additionally, try to get Medium sparks to increase her compatibility with her career races. You can also try to get Sprint sparks as Air Groove is a good backup Sprinter for PvP once she gets her Sprint affinity to A.
As for running pace sparks, look for Late Surger sparks to try and push it to S rank.
You can use either your own Veterans, or borrow the ones from your friends. If you do not have Veterans with full sparks, you can go with whatever you have access to.
Air Groove should ideally be played as a Late Surger if you want make the most out of her Unique Skill. As such, she will need acceleration and speed skills to win her races. Good acceleration skills include On Your Left! and No Stopping Me!, which can both activate in the late-race.
For mid-race velocity skills, try to get reliable skills like the corner skills Professor of Curvature and Medium and Late Surger Corners. You can also get positional skills like Slipstream, Playtime's Over, and even Uma Stan. Outer Swell and It's On! are also good skills that provide velocity when overtaking another runner.
Since she will be running in Medium races, getting a Gold Recovery skill like Swinging Maestro is a must so she has enough Stamina for the entire race.
If you cannot get the recommended skills, you can replace them with similar skills that you have access to. You will just need to make sure that Air Groove can activate said skills in a race.
