What is a Weapon's Elemental Damage?

Additional Damage For Your Weapon

Elemental Damage increases your damage against monsters that sports a weakness to the said element. Elemental power is additive so a weapon with low damage but high elemental damage can still do wonders against enemies that are weak to its element.

Elemental Attacks Do Not Cause Blights

As opposed to popular belief, Elemental Attacks from your weapons do not inflict blight against monsters. Monsters cannot be afflicted with blights in Monster Hunter World.

Elemental Damage Do Not Appear As Separate Numbers

Upon hitting an enemy, the damage you see is the total damage that comes from your raw attacks and elemental attacks.

How to Raise Elemental Attacks

Equip Element Raising Skills

If you have a fire weapon, equipping a fire element boost will increase your fire attacks further! This is the best way to increase your elemental damage.

Equip a Set That Enhances Elemental Attacks

Sets like the Velkhana Armor and the Silver Sol set increases your elemental attack's critical damage while the Namielle set increases your elemental damage itself. If you're wishing to increase your elemental damage, going for these armor sets is a must.
