Finishing Moves in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (MW2) are executions that you can perform when you're directly behind an enemy to instantly kill them. Read on to learn how to execute your enemies with Finishing Moves, and how to get or unlock them.
List of Contents
To do a Finishing Move, hold down your melee attack button when you're right behind an enemy. This triggers an animation where you perform an execution. You cannot do this if you're in-front of them since this will just trigger a normal melee attack.
The enemy does not need to be standing for the Finishing Move animation to trigger. They can also be prone or crouched - the animation also changes depending on the enemy's position.
While performing a Finishing Move, the execution animation will cancel if either of you gets killed. A simple melee attack would probably be the better option as opposed to using a Finishing Move to eliminate an enemy as it's a lot quicker to kill someone and you won't be vulnerable to enemy fire while performing the execute animation.
To avoid dying before or after you perform a finishing move, you can make use of a stealthy loadout containing the Tracker, Double Time, Cold-Blooded, and Ghost perks; as well as the Heartbeat Sensor as your equipment.

Another way to obtain Operators and their finishing moves is by purchasing the Seasonal Battle Pass. Each new season will usually introduce a brand-new Operator in its paid Battle Pass track, allowing you to unlock more finishing moves for your collection.
Raid was a new game mode introduced during the Season 1 Reloaded update which rewards you with the Gaz Operator upon completion of the first Raid mission. Stay tuned for more Raid missions to complete in order to get these unique Operators and their Finishing Moves.
Finishing Moves are a special melee action used to execute or instantly takedown an unsuspecting enemy from behind. They are a flashy way of killing your opponents and are designed to break the enemy's morale during one-sided stomps in multiplayer.
