Generates Sculk Block Types When a Mob Dies Nearby

Sculk Catalyst Generation - Minecraft
If a Mob that drops XP dies near a Sculk Catalyst, it can generate any kind of Sculk block type, though most commonly Sculk Veins and Sculk. Mobs do not have to be killed by the player for the Sculk Catalyst to work, any type of death will do. Player deaths will also cause the Sculk Catalyst to generate Sculk blocks as long as you have XP. If the Mob doesn't drop any XP, no effect will take place.

This makes it great for farming Sculk blocks and XP. Make sure to place them away from your main house since they can ruin a build if a mob accidentally dies nearby.

Has a 7 Blocks Detection Radius

Sculk Catalysts can detect mobs in a 7-Block spherical radius centered around the block. Though it can generate Sculk blocks much farther than this, the mob must die within the detection range.

Cannot Convert All Blocks to Sculk

Cannot Convert All Blocks to Sculk
A block can only turn into Sculk if it's a Dirt or Stone variant. Otherwise, the Sculk Catalyst will cover blocks in Sculk Veins until they reach a convertible block.
